Meh, you've had a card that is still considered to be relatively fast, AND have been able to enjoy it for many years now. I think that it is possibly one of the high-end cards with the best value ever released. It's faster than an 8800GT, so still about 4830 levels, which is very acceptable for a single card solution.

lol, nope.

its not just the GTX that could be mis configured, your ram timings for instance are sort of lowish for DDR2 at 1000mhz :\

might even be the command rate is intolerable, especially if its set to 1.

Nope, command rate is 2T. And besides, the memory is rated to run at 5-5-5-15 DDR2 1111mhz, so It's running under specifications, actually.

I think it's just SLI being goofed compared to a typical mono gpu solution :p

:p i think i could make that computer work like a charm.

Oh, it runs just fine; my issues with SLI are limited to a total of 3 games, other than that it's just fine. There's a well known bug with Fallout 3 concerning flickering HDR if you have SLI, but the issue goes away when SLI is disabled. TF2 gives me flickering freezecam shots whenever I die; this didn't use to happen before my most recent driver update, so I think that's to blame (issue also goes away with SLI disabled). Finally, Killing Floor crashes my display driver every 10 to 15 seconds if I use the direct3D 9.0 renderer with SLI enabled..this happened since I bought the game, which was after my most recent driver update.

Other than those 3 minor problems, which can either be ignored (in the case of Fallout 3 and TF2), or fixed (using the plain 'direct3D' renderer in Killing Floor).

The only reason I picked up the GX2 was 1.) It was cheap, considering the potential performance gains over my 8800gtx, and 2.) It was cheap, so I could try out SLI and see if it's technology I would spend more money on in the future. Since I game at a fairly modest resolution, 1680 by 1050, I can get by with a single monster card like the 8800gtx.

I'll probably wait for the next generation of nvidia/ati gpus coming out later this year, and get one of those, since in my specific situation, the benefits of SLI don't outweigh the introduction of dumb little bugs like the aforementioned three.

use SFR for Fallout 3 instead of AFR

im kinda right there with you. for finance reasons i went with the gtx285. and i have had zero issues. (except with crysis, but that was fixed in a matter of minutes) it was a solid single gpu. and consumes electricity nicely. my 650watt psu has no problem keeping up the pace. i could never see myself with an xfire or sli system. just too expensive.

i am looking forward to intels new gpu/cpu combo processor set to debut next year. and the great thing is that as for now they say it should fit my 1366 core i7 socket.

anyone else pumped up for this?

Don't

Its a useless piece of crap that won't even be able to run need for speed 4.l

but just from a computing stand point. it will be faster. offering more to the table than the i7. sounds like in less than six months my super sweet processor will be the entry level standard as far as intel sees it. they want to introduce a new socket. then i become outdated. sigh.:(

rotfl, the i7 will still be the king, over the i5. its gulftown you should be worried about :p

well theres AFR, AFR2 and SFR.

SFR is fine as long as the game can reach 60FPS on both gpu's if it goes higher you can limit to vsync, and decrease 3D Prerender to lower any controller lag that goes with it.

not all 6 cores have the gpu.
