I just recently installed Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.1.70 for ePSXe and am now getting white dialog boxes in Chrono Cross. I used to use Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.1.68, which worked fine with almost the exact same settings. I notice 1.1.70 doesn't have the garbage collection option the .68 had though, don't know if that could be the problem. I posted the setting for both of them below, along with a pic of what the problem looks like.
I have Pentium 4, 1.8ghz, WinXP Prof. ATI Radeon 64MB DDR card.

Here's what my settings for 1.1.70 were at:

you could try with the dithering off and turn your colors to R8 instead of R5. thats all i cant think of now. Pete mentionned that his 1.70 would have some problems but im not sure they were those kind...
and if 1.69 gives you the best results with good speed...why change? if 1.70 doesnt work use 1.69

what is really puzzling me is that the white is actually semi-transparent. Did you try a soft plugin by any chance?

Well I switched to Pete's D3D Driver v1.70. I download the zip file for all the 1.70 plugins, but none of them show up at DX7 D3D. There's only the D3D driver and the DX6 D3D driver. Well anyways, it works now. I have fairly good speed on it, but it tends to slow down during battles. Does anyone know how to keep the speed up during them?

Well, I think I got it as good as I'm going to get it. Thanks for the help. :) I've tried to use the P.E.Op.E's plugin, but it doesn't have as good of a picture as the D3D one. So I think I'm going to stick with the performance I have for now.
