It really matters not. You just need the appropriate O/S for your PC

Didn't notice any difference on Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows XP Home Edition.

It really depends on what video card ou have. If it is a vood00 or a 3dfx card you probably want to stick with 98, as there are no good xp/2000 drivers for 3dfx cards.

I'd suggest Win2k and XP. Better install ForceAspi though to get rid of those annoying error messages.

Greetings,

I would just like to say that I personally think that win98SE is the win OS of choice when running emulators. Despite the lack of stability in 98, there is a definite gain in performance (for me). When running 98, the OS itself takes up significantly less CPU cycles, as winXP (my other OS, I run dual-boot) sucks up quite a bit of cpu power just to make things look 'smooth'. Also, most drivers operate better under 98 anyways. This is especially true for me however, as i have an All-In-Wonder Radeon, and ATI's XP drivers just simply arent up to par. (btw, I dont feel like ATI drivers are bad...it just takes a long time to get an update) So, for me at least, and for you if you have a similiar system, I whole-heartedly recommend playing under win98 to squeeze every last bit of performance you can.

Sincerely,
TastEPlasma

Actually, I have a voodoo 5 5500 agp and it runs on winxp just fine and fast with the underground winxp 3dfx drivers(3rd party).. I can run epsxe and my pc games just fine.. You can find quite a few good winxp 3dfx drivers at www.voodoofiles.com
