NOTE: This is just a blog, maybe, from a source I got from email. I like to share it with others, and wish they could help me how to answer it back. Be warned this is long.

=======================================================================

So far, everything in No$gba is close to average. A bit of harsh would be lame at speed and errors upon audio re-enhancing, not much feedback, and so on. Being a programmer and wishes for accuracy on emulating NDS, you would say your work is at stake every 15 seconds of your life, sir.

Whatever goals you wished to obtain, my main purpose is to ask all members to had participated in this Forum: What does No$gba actually proves to the world about?

Countless emulators on the Net had made older games playable with the use of emulation. Although this feat has been made first by Bloodlust, the Nesticle, but why do they do this? They could say it's nothing much, a hobby, or something that make your life better, but what good is it when at least millions of people regard emulation as piracy.

No$gba first used emulation to achieve link capabilities between two GBA games. It proves that whatever hardware, CPU, or any kind of microchip as complicated as Intel Centrino Duo Core 64-bit, it is still able to be emulated.

Now that No$gba is proving to the world that Nintendo DS could be emulated, it might ring alarm bells throughout gaming companies. So far, the latest handheld device made by Nintendo is itself complicated, worse than that, they added emulating difficulties because of the touch screen features. If not be mistaken, people regard this device as a "huge counter against piracy", mostly in the battle, Japan vs China, where piracy is mostly sold at affordable prices. Even sushi could be pirated, so to say.

As of now, No$gba latest version is 2.6a. May in the future that this little information is out of date, I do hope the newer versions are still back at the official site.

The development of NDS are mostly incomplete, roughly around 40% in terms of tests from more than 8 emulators. Each could play a little bit of the game, some advancing more than expected, while others still lag behind. No$gba is still leading the rest of the emulators, as it stands out as the best emulator from different variety of sources.

But each source did not include or conclude their thoughts about the reason why:

1. Why do it?
2. Does it actually proves NDS and GBA could both be used as a standalone placebo?
3. What will it affect to others if it had been completed?
4. Would it doubles piracy after the development?
5. If No$gba becomes a finished project, others would compete for the best of the best, but would it affect how people see when they are asked about No$gba?

By now, we will wait for the next release...

If Martin could reply to this thread, maybe he might have the answer. Thanks for reading and hope you all have answers. :)

No emulators are perfect, and any of them will ever be completed. I think those two reasons are enough to believe that emulators aren't a threat of replacing the console. If people use it for piracy, it doesn't concern the author of the emulator. As for the reason, only Martin really knows, but hobby should be just fine for people who are asking themselves about it.

And I don't think Martin will be taking his sweet time to answer those questions.

No$gba no good, why no make toast?
You could at least try making an original joke...

I doubt it. Why would anyone use an emulator for piracy, while there are also several flash memory devices that can be used to play roms on the hardware?
Because not everyone has the actual hardware - so therefore emulation will be the closest they get to running games?

You know guys, i think that no$gba is the one that is causing those low DS sales /sarcasm (like you didn't know it was already ;) )

Seriously, that's one stupid blog post. Sure, everyone is entitled to their opinion but the blog posted here is just stupid.

"What does it prove"

What does No$GBA have to prove?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Why?

Because it already proved everything it set out to prove.

Rubbish, its the cost thats doing it + the fact its easily damaged
...accidentally sit on the DS, the screens crack.

i'd love to have 2 DS's, but 1 will do for now...

Maybe Martin could work with Nitendo,Maybe put the Emulator(perfected in the future)like around 15$ so it is still quite affordable and yet both of them could make money rather than free emulator on the web affecting the sales and Nintendo sueing people for piracy, and yes maybe many will download illegally, but earning a little rather than none, this is the best win win situation i could think of?So martin what do you think?Of course, this also may mean a risk for martin as Nintendo might ask him to stop. This may make it official so it would be at least the best of the best, but the name may need to be changed if that might happen.

IF it works...

A legal emulator for a up-to-date Nintendo console, that would never happen and work.
Nintendo want to make as much money as possible, as all Big three want, and they would never support a emulator for an active console and Martin definitivly know about. He's developing no$gba as a debugger for privates or little dev studios who can't afford that much money for the original Nintendo Dev Tools and nothing more. The free version just removed all these dev stuff and is used as a emulator, but at the end it is "just" a dev tool, not an emulator.

Console makers will never oficially support emulators, because:
1)If this is emulator for up-to-date console, this will low the sales (at least they think so). Really emulators don't have big influence on sales, especially for handhelds - what reason is to have emulator if you can have real handheld with you practically ewerywhere?
2)If this is emulator for not-up-to-date console, they cannot make money from it, so no reason to do this.

So far, #1, #2, and #4 are answered.

After seeing the awesomeness of the DS, using the No$GBA, I'm going to buy one. =)
As for you, good luck.
