Even when I upgrade my computer, it won't beat that set-up. When I get rich and land myself a nice job, I'll be upgrading much more often!
My PC is huge in size with loads of room to upgrade (4 Bays 5.25, 2 Bays 3.5 etc.) and is very loud! It's pretty fast as it is when I upgraded my RAM from 256MB to 768MB and my GeForce MX 440 to the GeForceFX 5600, my performance went through the roof (especially in N64 emulation @ high resolutions and PSX emulation with Pete's OpenGL2 plugin). Upgrading computers can be addictive and costly! I've spent ~£700-odd on my current PC (a bargin since I hand-picked the components myself from an independant retailer). I wouldn't have the courage to overclock though.
My Uncle got his rig (3000+, GeForceFX 5600...) for almost nothing, because his wife got some sort of subsidy from her work, so he bought the best PC that PC World had and cost him £200, less than my planned upgrade. Lucky bastard! I'll have to get one of those jobs! My comp will be slighty better than his when I upgrade though, which will majorly piss him off!

yeah im gonna have to say sxamiga on this one....
i dont mean to belittle you viper but you "only" have a Soundblaster live (come on, they have audigy Platinum ZS out now), you didnt really O/C your 5900u that much, and you have a puny hard drive setup. 2 Raptors in a RAID 0 would be better, IMO. and a 400 watt PSU....from what brand? any case mods? i really like your monitor man, im jealous...but have you heard of the Sony F520? what kind of optical drives are you running in there?
those are only a few things, and i sure as hell aint a hardware guru at all....however, when ANYONE comes in here, making a thread about how they have the "best" computer you might say im a little defensive

I guess I did mis understand. I'm just tryen to understand the point of this thread... Other than bragging rights.
there is no point of the thread. i seriously dont get it. it's like "look what new stuff i just bought"....big deal. Seta-San has a 3200+ and a 5900u. fivefeet8 has a 2800+ and a 5900u. plenty of people have 9800 pros and high end processors too....you dont see them going around bragging about it. (ok well seta-san made a thread about the XP game advisor...but it was a joke thread, come on)
