Xbox 360 is apparently cheaply made...Wal-Mart Kiosks are showing bad, bad artifacts in game...it was reported on Planetxbox360 and they were contacted almost imediately to take down at least one of the pictures of the kiosk showing the artifacts....
looks like a little (Major) issue M$ is trying to keep quite for now....

Wal-Mart stores are open 24/7. That means that the thing is running 24/7 and there are potentially customers in the store playing on it 24/7. The kiosk I saw had the console placed inside the metal case w/ the glass door where they keep the games. I don't anticipate that the ventilation in those things is very good.

I remember when I used to play my PSX for 12 hours straight and I would start to get disc read errors. My SNES would go nuts when I tried the same. I was playing FFIII at the time...the sprites corrupted for a few seconds, the background goes fuzzy, and suddenly one of my characters is replaced by General Leo. I finish the battle and find that I have 99 of almost every item available in the game...multiple times.

I suppose those consoles were cheaply made too. :rolleyes: Consoles simply become unpredictable when you stress them like that.

my friend beat gt2 entirely with no memory card on a psx and had zero problems. as i previously stated, the x360 was supposedly given very strenuous tests.

but thats another topic for another thread i suppose.

MS decides to deliberate xbox30fps' "soldout" status

Gizmodo reports that in Norway, the launch marketing campaign aims to build hype around the console by trumpeting its "SOLD OUT!" status to would-be buyers. In addition to limiting the per-store stock of consoles and having the retailers prepare to prominently note the unit's "sold out" status, Microsoft has allegedly asked Norwegian retailers to sign an agreement that they'll sell out of the consoles on the launch date.

Woohoo, fairly soon I'll be able to talk about what I beta tested at microsoft (after it gets released) and went through. Too bad they take their "don't talk about what you played" thing so seriously. Ah well, at least they said I can say I played the 360, haha.

the xbox users tried to claim so when specs were first released. But it was quickly pointed out, it isn't wasn't and won't be due to the cell's design and how it can preform more in the same time. Giving it that 2 flops.

If you want people to take you seriously, it'd probably be a good idea to write in legible English.

Really? That's snazzy. Well, I played it about a month and a half ago, so it was well before wallmart got it. And technically, I don't believe I can say whether I even liked or disliked it, just gonna have to wait for the offical game to get released to say anything, I guess. :(

Hmm, odd..
Didn't notice that at the EB Games kiosk I went to. However, I wasn't impressed with Call of Duty 2. But looking at screens from games like Perfect Dark Zero catches my eye.

I'm not buying the system because of it's hardware, I'll buy it because of the games. The PS3 is amazing, but I'm not blowing 500$ or so on a PS3 so I can play Final Fantasy. I also like the design of the 360 better than the PS3. And you don't need to have the best, just what works for you.

No it's probably a typical ATI card overheating ;-).

The rumor I heard was 500$-550$

However, I have no clue.

Hmm, notice how the sony fanboys are all trying to say how much they think the 360 stinks?..

in fact both consoles will be near the same graphically, it depends on the game programmers.. and i have to say microsoft has some very nice game makers on board.

Not only that but they have a real nice online service.. plus, the 360 is out like 5-6 months earlier than PS3.

You gotta give them some credit regarding the games shown until now: the ps3 looks better graphically speaking right now. Things may get better for the xbox360 in the future though.

lol...even Carmack said the PS3 was more powerfull..he just likes the M$ tools better. BUT he is pretty high on Ps3 too....he said the tools , while not as robust as M$, were very good....
So far all of the Xbox 360 games aren't very impressive...even gears of war is no where near MSG 4. Xbox 360 games look more like claymation to me than realistic....like plastic figures....and half the launch titles are also coming out for Ps2 and normal xbox. Plus I just read that only about 400,000 360's will even be avalible in the US this year.....

The employee stated that his Arizona store has had over 90 pre-orders, 32 of which were guaranteed to be fulfilled, until today when the EBG head office revealed that the store would receive just 16 units on November 22nd, leaving another 16 "guaranteed" pre-orderers bitterly disappointed, and another 60-odd sod out of luck for who knows how long.
The company as a whole will supposedly only receive around 35,000 (VE3d source) / 40,000 (Kotaku source) its to distribute to all outlets across North America. Total pre-order is around 75,000 (Kotaku source)"
