Just started playing this game, the story and quest interaction is much heavier paced than other RPG/action games I've encountered and found myself happily absorbed for several hours straight.

Game sofar isn't extremely free-roaming, but its got enough space to let you walk off the beaten path atleast.

Had sex with Triss at the start of the game, however I let "Vesna Hood" die whilst I escorted her home...I didn't know the hell hounds would get so damn "packed"! This game will get replays for sure, the branching desisions really do make an impact (for once).

How the game runs on your AMD64 system? A friend of mine told me that the game is very heavy (gfx) and he have to go for lower settings with his Dual Core system.

It's also said that the game is designed on NWN1 graphics engine. Is it really running on DX8?

BTW. Nice screenshots!

Average outdoor framerate is 30 FPS and indoors nothing sub 70 FPS (with alot of guards, spells..etc). Running with max details, 16xAF, 4xAA at 1680x1050.

Game is a modified version of the NwN2 engine, yet unlike NwN2, stable. edit: Its the NwN1 engine, thanks Cid!

Made it to the start of Chapter 2, the number of story strands has really picked up and the locals very warm to a bribe! Thankfully being a mutant immune to disease and totally infertile - the hookers are a good place to stop off as well!

I'll post some of the less "rude" tarot cards (Have sex with one characters you can get it on with and you get a little picture as a momento :rotflmao:)

glad to see u finally got it working xD

Had to butcher the images alittle to get them sub 400KB! Still rather "pretty" though.

This game has had my interest for some time, but because of my previous Atari experiences I never bother buying it. Also, CK, the game is made on the Aurora Engine(NWN1), not the Electron Engine. Thanks for the shots anyway :)

I'm so glad You like it, CKemu ;) It is wonderful to hear good opinions about game made by Polish programmers. I'm proud of them :thumb:

Hmm looks like NWN2 (or NWN...never played so I can't tell) slightly Oblivionised and Fabelised and in permanent 3rd person.

Is the action realtime hack and slash or NWN style point and click (and then watch the action till you win/lose/retreat)?

Not sure what to make of it, but it looks as if I need to take a closer look at it and not just dismiss it as I have been doing...then again it probably won't run well on this PC even on low.

CK, How is the game in front of oblivion?
They're really not comparible, this one is vastly less free roaming, utterly different feel and principles so I enjoy Oblivion for different reasons, Oblivion lets you use your imagination to fill in the world, this one is intensely story driven with many quests going on simultaniously.

Its a flawed but extremely good game for a first time effort, I hope they glean success from this and can improve/expand upon this.

Its a "click flighter", you click on an opponent to attack, and then time subsequent clicks to produce combos, with various attack modes and the ability to dodge, it really can look like a ballet of death with some practice, so much more interactive than "click and wait", but not as "natural" as Oblivion.

It would run, but this game is seriously crippled with its load times, expect to be doodling, or glugging alot of coffee between area changes.

Its grim, gritty, alittle cheesy in places but utterly more engrossing than Oblivion in terms of story, and the choices you make are never black/white..more shades of grey. Oblivion you play to roam and get the main quest over and done with, Witcher you play for constant plot, and multiple outcomes.

Now it seems even more like NWN, but simply from an Oblivion perspective in a cross between a Fable and NWN world.

So I would just like to confirm that it's not a click and wait game? You actually have to click again and time those clicks?
This suddenly sounds even more fun...I can live with click and wait when in Bird's eye view for NWN2, but the perspective chosen for this game needs to be more active so it's very good that it is.

As for loading times o well too bad...can't be worse than ProStreet...In fact I wish Oblivion would load longer. Instead it loads up a horse and a deer and a wolf, some NPC, and half a fort along with about a dozen trees...the rest is kept back for your stuttering/loading pause/freeze pleasure whilst walking around. So if the load times mean more smooth gameplay then I can live with it. Athough hopefully the extra GB of RAM and a new sound card will help a bit in this area or at least for smoother gameplay.

Anyways I definately need to take a look now. I am always on the hunt for a good RPG and everything sofar (especially Oblivion) has just left me wanting.

This is defiently no "click and wait" game, the only time you might "click and wait" is if you're having a coffee and decide to click on a door for the "hero" to automatically walk over to whilst you sip, though I mastered gaming and sipping coffee at the same time years ago :p

You also get signs, or several handy spells that you can break your combo with, my favourite knocks the enemy back, allowing you space to retreat, or run over to them and preform a "death move", where you skewer them with your sword, or in heavy combat mode, beat their skull in with your sword hilt.

Game isn't just OTS, you can have Low/High Isometric views, which brings the mouse pointer constantly into play (normally you must hold "shift" to get to the menus). and makes movement akin to an MMORPG.

#16 ·
O, so you move by clicking aswell? No WASD?

#17 ·
In Isometric mode you can WASD or click, in OTS mode you use WASD or click on an NPC/door/object to auto goto, its a game that gives you a variety of controls.

Ahhh ok. Thanks for the explanation.

Well that settles it I need to check this game out a bit more.

After having a dodgey hard drive moment (believe it was a loose SATA cable) causing PIO mode, corrupt index's and all manner of "fun", I've returned to this engrossing game.

Despite some "odd" voice acting moments (which are still better than Oblivions goofs), I've enjoyed the relentless quests and amsusing dialog! Put some of the less naughty "sex" cards into the screenshots.

Every shot I see of the game makes it look more and more like NWN.

I was a little farther than Ck when I stopped it, maybe I should give it another shot.

And it doesn't really feel like NWN to me, more choices to make (IMO), no party (you alone), less D&D.

My only gripes with the game was sometime how confusing the quests could be (like "where the hell am I supposed to go? Why can't this quest won't finish, do I have to wait and do some side-quest first?").

Patches are supposed to improve loading times, they werent bad for me tho, they were actually very good, I only had problem with the "blur" effect that dropped my fps to hell, while without the bad blurring I would get a 60fps (latest patches have improved that tho, and made the blur look better).

The game is fine, combat get a little boring and I don't like how you have to wait after killing enemies to loot them (seems unnecessary, you have to wait 3-5 seconds while looking at them waiting for your char to get out of combat) and while overall the games has a lots of little flaws, it's still a pretty good game.

haha I concur, they should just auto skin for us and their loot should pop out on the ground just so we could go on with our killing without the need to stop n go. :)

this should be their #1 priority fix on their next patch =P
