IMPORTANT:

Beta versions won't be supported officially!
If you have trouble with some beta versions, then please switch to another version!
(Of course you still can write "game x does not run with SVN, but it ran before" - just an information)
We will not solve problems with beta versions here!
We do not know when the next beta or final version will be released!

Please keep this thread clean, thanks!
________________________________

In this thread users can write their experiences with the different SVNs.
Usually, every beta version gets or loses a feature/bug and so on.

For example: "Game x runs with 0.95 svn x much better for me"
"Game x now starts with 0.95 svn x"

This also could help the emu authors...

If you are reporting bugs please use http://forums.ngemu.com/pcsx2-official-forum/102338-bug-reporter.html

simply because it will slip from general discussion in to support :p we are dabbling with ideas at the moment, i will leave this thread open but i wont sticky it, so if people wish to chat about 0.9.5 betas, do so in here (no support tho)

Ill be an all seeing eye, not watching out for support requests, but looking for stuff ive broken :p

0.9.4 = last stable supported release, people should download this if they havent already and want help with the "newest" version. the betas are there to stop idiots compiling them and distributing them, its very tempting for the unsuspecting, which is potentially dangerous for them, but of course they arent supported on here. So if people want support, they should get 0.9.4 ;)

Great idea.

Ref I know u hate this kinda threads so just ignore it and let me handle it or something.

Perhaps we'd need to put some guidlines for this kinda thread of what's allowed and not...

Nightmare85 I'm confused as to what could possibly be discussed about the beta if it somehow doesn't get directly involved with troubleshooting.

If we are trying to pinpoint errors or anomilies for Refraction and rest of the pcsx2 coding team and act as a form of secondary testers how can we narrow down an error within the program without troubleshooting a particular issue and determining whether or not it is a configuration issue or whether it is a bug in the code?

It would definitely be great to see posts here about games which don't work with the official release but DO work with betas ... I almost gave up on at least one game until I found out it works with the beta ... That would be WAY OF THE SAMURAI 2, which crashes very early with the official release but works awesome with the beta linked on this site ...

Well what I would personally find interesting discussing in this thread are compability changes between builds and if you find any weird issues and also performance differences etc between them.

I'm not at all interested in "how do I get x game working on svnxxx" or "what's the best config for svnxxx" etc however. ;)

Great that some of you like this thread ;)

PCXL-Fan:
The different SVNs have different features, bugs ect.
And some versions work well for some games, others work very badly.

I've experienced that 0.95 svn 307 works most fast for me especially for Tekken 4 NTSC.

0.94: 52 FPS in Jungle stage
0.95 svn 307: 60 FPS in Jungle stage (with speed hacks, without: 52, too)
0.95 308 and newer: 45 fps in Jungle stage (even with speed hacks!!)

So in this case a Tekken fan would be thankful for this kind of information.
Got it? :thumb:

I'm sure there are many other things like this (maybe not even speed, compatibility, too).
I did not test the version with other games, but I will do it!

the slowdown in 308 and newer is due to me tightening up the SPU2 sync. im working on a "special" build of zerospu2 which doesnt require that timing, which should bring the speed back, and some (hopefully)

Nightmare85, you may want to change the first post to explain what this thread is about, to avoid it being spammed to death.

Changing the title would be nice too but I don't know if a normal member can do that :)

AzzClown, did you test your MGS3 with any other svn build? And did it work with that one?
If so please tell us at what point (svn number) it stopped working for you.

I don't but this might be once in a life time occurence. In samurai warriors, the game window stopped rendering with the speed hacks turned on but the game kept playing background music (i was battling and then i got hit hard and flew a little bit and then tried standing back up). Just thought I'd put that out there.

Well i dont know what you mean to svn ( im new to the emulator) But it workd fine in 0.9.4( only 15fps but everyone else gets that) im using gsdx9 0.10.0, also tested it with zero cosmos 0.96.0 and efp iso cdvd driver 0.6.0. Im sure my pc can run the game ( 2GB RAM, 2.1 ghz core 2 duo with a geforce 8600)

Hey but Bionicle works now. Didn't work before in gabest's plugin, does now! (Awesome job(not that I'm going to play it but another game works and probably can be played all the way through)). O and on an unmodded pc it plays in game around 25fps with speed hacks lol.

Azzclown, your plugins. are horrible outdated. Get the latest build of PCSX2 and download GSdx 1.7

And actually no, your PC is pretty weak, your processor especially, RAM and GFX card are ok, for some things, but that is not that great of a PC, especially for PCSX2.
