Alright you slowpokes, get this game, it freaking rules
And it's ~€10,- cheaper than your average new game as well. Something that really surprised me and convinced me to buy this game.
After a quick test drive yesterday I decided to buy it today. A rather good decision. This game is awesome, forget NFS and all the other arcade racers, this is the real deal. I love how the cars behave, if falls somewhere in between Metropolis Street Racer, F355 Challenge and Tokyo Extreme Racer 2. And it simply combines the best of those games as well.
I started off buying an Audi TT, the car I was using in MSR just a week ago, and it isn't a bad car to start out with in this game. Tonight I've been able to get myself a better car, a freaking Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, man I love the sound of that one!
The graphics of this game are pretty much stunning, although demanding. It does make me feel very happy I sold my 7800GS for an ATi, cause HDR + AA is something you don't want to miss out on, even if it's only AA2x. AA4x gives a pretty big hit on my FPS, seeing how I also use Adaptive AA and 8xhqAF.
Warning: The amount of HDR in this game is on par with Oblivions, only with the speed you're moving here it will really hurt your eyes, so play it in a well lit room, cause it's really straining. Also, it's a good thing you can turn off the motion blur when driving fast, it's annoying
Note that this game still has some bugs. At one moment one person and I kept dropping in the ocean, and after it all settled down I was driving in a classic car which would accelerate like mad even in its 6th gear. Despite of this I still wanted my Gallardo back, it was a hard decision picking the 1337 paint or the blueish. I decided to save red for my Ferrari, preferably an F355, but an Enzo would do as well ^^
Pictures taken with 2xAA, 8xAF, HDR, @1024x768. My pc keeps a steady framerate between 25 and 40 fps depending on the camera and amount of other players in the area, with the occassional stutter when it loads, oblivion-like
Very well playable but if you want to max it out and play it smoothly, you're gonna need more. I heard others about this game being very demanding on the CPU as well, which is where I might be lacking (P4 3.5ghz)
ps. Recommended album while driving: Manowar - Kings of Metal :THUMB:
