If you want surround sound, go with the SbLive!. If you just use two speakers, stick with the onboard sound. I'm forced to use my onboard sound (sis 7012) when I play Might and Magic VI, because the sound is all messed up in XP with my sblive (onboard is generally just as good, as long as you only use two speakers or heaphones), so if you play that game, be careful. I personally have two different types of speakers hooked up. My front is some Altec Lansing speakers (2 + sub), and my back is a few year old Labtec speakers (2 + sub, good bass with this one). I've been using this SbLive! value for about... 4 years, so I can tell you that they last.
