Hey guys, what's up. I've been having a bit of a problem with epsxe, using every CDROM, graphics, and sound plugin with little success. The problem is this: MDECS for such games as FF&, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, and a few others are really slow. this problem also pops up when a game has to stream XA files off the CD, like in Bloody Roar 2 and Strider 2(the music files); the slowdown is horrendous and the performance is horrible. When it comes to the game gfx thewmselves, everything is fine though;I'm able to play FF7 and Strider fine, respectively, by sufering through the MDECS and turning off the XA sound. It really isn't bad at all, but I'm at my wits end with what the problem could be. I have a 56x CD ROM drive, so i don't think thats the problem, but none of the various plugins seem to help either. What could it be? any suggestions anyone? (I apologize for the length of this post, my explanation is a bit unwieldy) As for system specs, I have a Duron 800, 640 MB of Ram, a Radeon SDR 64 MB, and SBPCI 128. Thanks in advance.

some games need the FPS limiter be set specifically to 60fps for NTSC and 50 PAL, i've encountered some choppiness with the mdecs in some games if the frame limiter is set to auto, but setting them to manual values corrects them. I dunno if this is your problem, but its worth a shot.. at what resolution do you usually play?
