Hey all, have been browsing these forums for a while but only recently got a valid email so now I can post too, joy!

Just built a new PC from scratch (see footer) so now games are looking a lot more crispy than before but I just wanna tweak some more out of Resident Evil 3. Everything is looking fine but when I meet Nemesis and the choose action screen comes up, 3D objects disappear during the white flash, heartbeat moment. Here's in search of the perfect emulation eh? Any help appreciated! :thumb:

Also big shout out to the developer(s) of the Eternal SPU, Pete and all his excellent work over the years with his GPUs and other plugins, the creators and developers of ePSXe, the Delta frontend guys, and all FinalFantasy/ResidentEvil/ParasiteEve/MGS affiliated creators etc...

Sup, welcome to NGEmu on a very bad start.

This is our Glorious Screenshots thread so that means it's about screenshots and posting screenshots but the comments are really appreciated :)

¤sob¤ I was hoping to see some hi-res RE3 screens using petes filters :'(

:???: woah, indeed that was universally stupid, sorry guys, not a good way to start at all and not a taste of things to come either! :heh: Through much tweaking I actually sorted the problem anyhow but to make this a valid thread here's two images from the game and expect more once I get back into again. Cheers!

New Captures Using OGL2-ePSXe

Hey all, went away and updated my Pete's plugin so now I'm using OpenGL2 and have to say I've noticed a big improvement with graphics and 3D animation. It's starting to look pretty lush now but there's more tweaking to be done yet. Here's a recent collection of captures from the earliest areas of the game, enjoy! :thumb:

More Captures (1024x768)

It's annoying, I just moved from Australia and had to leave my 17" CRT FlatScreen monitor capable of 1280x960dpi at home. Now I'm living with relatives and although my tower is soo much better I'm having to work with a 14" at max 1024x768. As you know the best resolutions for emulation are multiples of 320x240. Anyways here's the best I could squeeze out of the game at 1024x768, I might try messing around with screen smoothing and filtering to try and get rid of the pixalated sides of polygons and 2D backgrounds. Cheers! :D

It's amazing how much the PS1 causes pixelation, If you open a image source from a game disc in 3dsmax they almost look like PS2 graphics, I'll post a picture of a Toca 1's source file later in 3dsmax, I guess the ps1 has a problem applying them to a model.
Also check out how poor the graphics are in Rugby League 1 for the PS2

compared to Rugby League 2

for the PS2 it's the same for burnout 1 vs no 3, I think it'll be the same for the PS3 as well it's the difference between bland matt colours seen in Enthusia Vs nice glossy graphics in burnout with high def.
No wonder all the next consoles screenshots look substandard the later games on a console always have better graphics :thumb:

I wouldn't say the ps1 cause pixelation...it simply doesn't have anything to smooth out the pixils. Also the games were made for standart tvs in 320x240 so they aren't goign to look right on a monitor that can do over 1024x768 or whatever res (that and no scanlines like tvs have...)

sorry all no more pics as yet, recently purchased FFXI for my PC, it's my first online game and OMG how good is it?!!! well delve into Ressie for an how or two over the next few days and give some more results then! Cheers :)

Buy Guild Wars or World of Warcraft. Final Fantasy XI is a bad way to start MMORPGs, and if you enjoy such a game... well, I suppose you've set your standards very low.

Can you do one for resi evil 1, the bit at start where your talking in the hall to either Wesker & Jill or Barry & Wesker depending on who your playing as. It really needs filtering the most, I wanna know how much of a difference your filters really have :)

I'l do some of ressie 2 for time being, im getting ressie 1 within a couple of weeks or so, so stay tuned.

With regards to FFXI, I'm absolutely loving it, worlds, characters, monsters and everything is beautifully animated, people are friendly, the world is huge, theres tons of stuff to do and see, I've had the game since Thursday and already clocked up just under 2days worth of play, I think it rocks, I'l let you know when I get bored... :D the fact that it's online just adds merit to an already hugely successful series.

Back to the topic, Here are some comparison between Ps and Pc version.

As you can see, Pc version is clearly win.
Everything look better than Ps version (but no doubt since ps is far more inferior than pc). Only good thing in Ps version is Rumble function ;) .

But I can't make FSAA works with PC version, when enabled, texture in background is mess up.

Here are Ps version (OGL1.75 , FSAA 8X)

Ps. For those who has artifact problem in pc version in hi-res mode ( >1024*768) just press F5 (ingame) and UNCHECK this box, your problem will be fix :) )
