This thread is for users of PCSX2 0.9 to report bugs they find, and offer feedback, information to the developers and help other users.

Thread Rules
1: DO NOT report game problems like game X is not running, game Z has messed up graphics, game y used to work with 0.8 as bugs! These are due to incomplete emulation and are not the subject of this thread.

2: DO NOT report error messages displayed from PCSX2's console as bugs, these fall into rule number 1

3: Read the configuration guide! The answer to your problem might easily be there: PCSX2 Configuration guide thread

4: Try to include the most information possible along with your report, that means PC specs, plugins used, BIOS version and everything else you might think of that could be usefull.

Any post breaking these rules will be deleted in due time

The developers, testers and site mods/admins will try their best to help you, along with other helpfull site members, but if you don't get an answer immediately, do not spam, just wait!

what I have experienced in the last few hours I have tested this emu: The emu has greadly been improved but IMO the compat has gone to the dogz. The speed isn't 20FPS as stated on these magnificent screenshots way back when. Or was that for FF X only and feck all else? In any case, it has improved a lot but has hit a lot of holes, like crashing a lot as the prev poster stated. and the disappointmnet not being to use zero's plug, the one we all have been waiting for, because we lack the ps2.0 requirement.
Besides that there is no problem. Keep up the great work.

Stats used:
GSDX9 (zero not supported ><) -> PS1.4 d3d windowed
SPU2 v 1.4
pete's cdvd v1.2 Threadread, WinXp/2k settings

First things first.
a) IMHO help in emulator should be converted to text or text based chm format, while curent HTML documentation should be corrected (thre are bugs in e.g CPU configuration section) and released in separate file. Don't get me wrong, I like, I really do, it's sooo pretty... but it takes over 3,5 MB, and most of that are JPG files which you can't compress well ergo thay takes most size of setup file. Just my opinion :D
b) Secound thing is cpu detection - see the screnshot bellow.
c) no more raports from me ATM, sorry I've just get from work and just start to play with new release. After doing so more testing, I'll post more bug-raport's, if I will find any bugs

Anyway - great job guys :!!:

Sorry, old systems are not supported and i think its pretty fair. You will never get even close to playable speeds with old hardware like that so you shouldnt complain really. To emulate modern consolese like ps2,you need modern hardware
OMG :p Really?... I've clean up system, play with configuration and in result I've gor 9-35fps (thats not bad for testing) on my PIII-1,2GHz, 512 MB RAM, GF3Ti... and almost twice of that on P4 system.

I LOVE CPU Detection Lib, especially running @ my old system >

Only 1 Game so Far.

Game: Saint Seiya Chapter Sanctuary (Multi-L 5 Version)

Specs: AMD 3200 Venice, Geforce 6100 128M Integr., 1 GB DDR400.

First of all, I checked compatibility list on the main page and said the game is Playable... ok, so I went and tried both graphic plugins, the difference vs. ver 0.8 is great! around 10-15 fps. But same problem to get ingame... graphics are simply messed up, cinematics simply don't show. I'll do further testing and will upload screenshots later, I'm at my job right now.

Here's the bug: I got crashes when switching the pipeline mode from 1.1 to 2.0 and all the inbetweens.

Sometimes looked like memory errors and 00000000x0 stuff, sometimes emu just crashed.

Anyways, congrats guys... great progress ;)

i'm not sure if this is isolated to just Disgaea (SLUS 2066.66), but I'm having a similar problem to that of 0.81 as it relates to save states. as long as pete's sound plugin is enabled, trying to create a save state will result in the emulator freezing.

i'm wondering if a new or different sound plugin (aside from the NULL) would fix this problem.

if there is an alternative solution or setting i'm not aware of, i'd be greatful to hear it.

I've ran into a very annoying and weird problem. I just can't choose PEOPS SPU2 plugin. I just get upon launch of pcsx2:

Only lets me use SPU2Null v0.5.0. PEOPS plugin doesn't appear in the list. Any ideas where to start troubleshooting?

Sorry if it's wrong thread, but I have 1 little question.
It is written in PCSX help file:

"You now have two options from the start menu: "PCSX2 0.9 (slower)" (pcsx2t.exe) and "PCSX2 0.9 VM" (pcsx2.exe). If you are a Windows XP user we recommend Pcsx2 0.9 VM, if you are a Windows 9x / NT or 200x user you must use Pcsx2 0.9 (slower)."

So there's my question: Why it is no pcsx2.exe file in directory, or even shortcut in start menu???(There's only pcsx2t.exe in dir) If PCSX2 0.9 VM is real where I can download it? Or I didn't understand something? (I'm winXP user)
I tried to reinstall program, but it didn't help.
Can anybody plz help me?

P.S. I have read the rules.:) I hope, I didn't break them.

Hey m0rpheus

The PCSX2 team decided to rerelease v0.9 due to many problems users ran into with that "VM" mode so it was removed in the rerelease. The help file isn't yet updated, so that's why.

Enabling "Multi threaded GS Mode (MTGS) (Experimental)" crashes PCSX 0.9 (latest rerelease) with the "GSDx9" graphics plugin (Both SSE2 and normal versions). The emulator opens a window for rendering, waits a few seconds, then crashes. With the same setting enabled, the new ZeroGS plugin works fine. Disabling sound makes no difference. Some system specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Running at 2.5 GHz, Prime95 stable and I've never had any problems with it)
Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT AGP (core/mem at 560/1170, ATITool stable)
Creative X-Fi Elite Pro
ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 motherboard.

The 6600 GT may not be the fastest card around, but it supports all the latest features (PS 3.0, HDR, et cetera)

Not sure if it´s really an error, but here it is, just in case!
Pentium 4/Athlon64's have SSE2. You'll have to use non SSE2 plugins and configurations.;)

Nah the problem was that I was using one of the first installers. Had to get a new one. No more VM version for me (it worked too).

Actually, now that you mention it: Does GSDX9 work with Dual Core in any case? Just wondering if this is a general issue or game specific.

Cant find "SDL.dll" or "libiconv-2.dll", I had to download seperatly. Aditionaly I always get an error when trying to execute that says either "Error opening GS Plugin" when I use the ZeroGS plugins, and "Error loading GSsetBaseMem: Error loading Symbol."
the last error is because you are either A. trying to use the SSE2 plugins when you dont have sse2, or B. you are trying to use old plugins which will NOT work

Disgaea, Hour Of Darkness, Saves into the game Freeze randomly.
save games or save states?

btw thats an emulation WIP problem NOT a bug in the emulator.

#25 ·
Clarify that: Do you mean saving freezes randomly? or loading save games freezes randomly? And as always, you are going to be asked to give your specs and settings.

(Sorry for my English)
Trying to clarify,
When I try to save my progress as show In the picture disgaea01.jpg the emu go to slowdown and then the speed return to normal, but the screen doesn’t change, I wait 5 minutes and nothing, this happened sometimes.
When I try to start again the emu, show me the screen disgaea02.jpg.

the speed in general is about 80% :)
