Hey everyone,

I'm excited to test out the PCSX2 emulator, but i need help with the Bios. Before i ask my question i want you all here to know I READ the rules about no questions on where to get the bios files. But my question is: I have a whole folder of PSX/PS2 Bios files, and when i select "Set Bios Directory" and browse to the folder, no files appear on the list. Does this mean i don't have the proer PS2 bios file? Can someone simply tell me the name of the proper file i need? I am NOT asking where / or how to download the file. I'm just asking what it is called.

Oh, and could i ask why there is such a copyright issue over this? I own a PS2 and a PSX (So i suppose i have the right to own the file) but that doesn't mean i can get it from my console, lol

You could destroy your console after you extract the BIOS, if that would soothe your conscience

1) Maybe there are fake BIOS files, such PS1 BIOS files (his size is 512 KB)
2) The BIOS image is bad dumped (His exact size is 4.00 MB, 4.194.304 bytes)
3) You'd changed the BIOS directory, in "Config" -> "Configure" -> "Set BIOS directory" you can change the directory.

Well, i think i might just have PSX bios, actually...

But do any of you know the name of the PS2 version?

How is it? From the region or which version is your BIOS dump? The region can tell you the PCSX2, same as the version. It doesn't matter the name of the BIOS file

Well, for example, the name of my PSX bios is SCPH1001.BIN. I know there are many others out there that may work, but that's one of the main ones.

I'm just looking for the name / names of the main PS2 bios that can be used.

PS2 BIOS images which exist:

SCPH10000 [Doesn't work with current PCSX2]
SCPH30004
SCPH39001
SCPH39004
SCPH50003
SCPH70004
SCPH70008

...possibly more.

SCPH1001.BIN is a PSX BIOS, so it useless for PCSX2.

Exactly. Anyway, Why'd you want the file name? Just Dump it using your own PS2. There are guides on how to dump your Bios to your comp. (hmm. It seems to me that you are asking the file name to download it from internet. well, Warning, Downloading Bios Is Illegal)

Yes, It means you dont have the proper bios.

PS2 and Logos, Trademarks, and Bios and stuff are copyrighted by Sony. That is the reason why. If you have a PS2 and PSX, you still dont have the right to download bios and stuff from Internet. You have the only option to dump it from your own PS2 or PSX.
