Hey all

used to play ff7 this past fall with epsxe 1.6.0. Haven't touched it in forever.

I upgraded to 1.7.0 and also Pete's new OpenGL plugins. I get the Sony Computer Entertainment Presents screen but then nothing. No video or images come up after that and I've tried three different graphics plugins. Any ideas?

have you tried playing the game from both the disc and an image?

I tested again FF7 with 1.7.0 with no problems, can you tell me the plugins you're using right now?

ePSXe 1.7.0
Note: Both load the 'Sony Computer Entertainment Presents' screen but nothing follows.

ePSXe 1.6.0

Have only tried D3D 1.77 with the same config as above and loads fine.
Nothing loads with the OpenGL2 2.9 plugin. Just a black screen.

what drivers are you using for your videocard? btw you need to set the render mode to 2 when using those internal resolution settings. i would also use a 2-2-1 or 2-3-2 compatibility setup as well as setting the texture filtering to 4 or 0.

The problem is in the GPU settings,

you can't use
- No render-to-texture: off

and

- Framebuffer effects: 3

the highest you can go is 2
Since your video card supports Framebuffer objects, set render to texture, to 2.

OK. I have tried implementing the advice above and here are the results..

ePSXe 1.7.0 - FF7 loads with D3D 1.77 but NOT OpenGL2 2.9

Here is my 2.9 config:

Code:
Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
GFX card: GeForce 8600 GTS/PCI/SSE2

Resolution/Color:
- 640x480 Window mode
- Internal X resolution: 2
- Internal Y resolution: 2
- Keep psx aspect ratio: on
- No render-to-texture: W

- Filtering: 4
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- TexWin pixel shader: off
- VRam size: 0 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: off
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: Auto

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 1
- Framebuffer effects: 2
- Framebuffer uploads: 1

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Mdec filter: on
- Screen filtering: on
- Shader effects: 1/3
- Flicker-fix border size: 255
- GF4/XP crash fix: off
- Game fixes: off [00000002]

disable antialiasing in the nvidia control panel globally.

try turning the flicker border fix down to 2.

I got no problems at all in FF7 with Epsx 1.7.0 + OpenGL2 2.9. I just turns Nice settings and that was it :).

Try changing your CDROM plugin that might be the problem...
