Wasn't sure where to post this, seeing as how I'm a new member on this site, and also lacking a great deal of common sense =P

I recently downloaded the no$gba emulator, and I've managed to get Professor Layton and the Curious Village working on it. However, the sound is all static-y and jumbled up whenever someone speaks or when the game cuts to an in-game mini-movie. The latter also lags quite a bit.

Also, when I thought I was saving my game data, it turns out that nothing had been saved. Maybe I need to change some settings or something.

I then went and downloaded Desmume 'cuz someone had recommended it, but it lags even more than no$gba. =/

I'd really appreciate someone helping me out here! =D And if an admin is reading this, sorry if this thread is in the wrong place.

You didn't post you pc spec so the laggin and bad sound might be because of a slow pc. Also which no$gba are you using? you need no$gba 2.6a since its more optimized than the older version.

Also using NO$Zoomer helps a lot in the static sound, use the option noise suppresion to fix the sound in some games, the games needs to be running at full speed for this to work.

Remember to use the version 2.6a

Pc specs would be a great help. Go to OPTIONS>EMULATION SETUP then change the emulation speed to somthing higher like "Real time audio" that might solve sound issues also change "Nds-cartridge backup media" too "flash 512kbytes". Then please post your pc specs and outcome of advice thank you :) p.s. If you want the emulator to run quicker then change the emulation speed to "unlimited mhz disaster, 10%" but this will ruin the sound to a point.

Thanks! That helped loads. =) Also, what about this saved data matter? Are the emulator settings meant to be on anything in particular in order to access saved data whenever I quit the game and start it up another time?

read the stickied FAQ to find out how saves work

I'm a bit of technophobe (trying to change that, so bear with me =P), but this is all I couldfind with regards to my pc specs. Feel free to yell at me if I should have posted more xD

Atom, that explains it (with regards to your lag issues), your system is weak...too weak basically in this case.

Sorry to be posting in this again, but I'm following whatever the FAQ says, but it's still not saving. Maybe there's just something wrong with the game download itself, even though no one posed any complaints about it. =/
