Why on earth do you have this problem with capes? And no...the movie isn't going to explain it cuz that's just the way things are and you aren't meant to question it. You've clearly watched too much Incredibles if you question capes this much.

I don't really care about them, but you have to admit capes are pretty pointless. :evil: They are easily justifiable as a fashion statement by the character though. "I'm bad ass, look at my damn cape. LOOK AT IT."

 

When it comes to capes Spawn and Batman is pretty much all i like.

I have no problem with cape as far as they have the right explanation to be used. The air resistivity they would offer while flying is enough to dismiss them from a hero perspective, no matter what strength he can develop.

Kryptonians seems to be at least an effective race, so their cape should have an useful function. And I found this on screenrant (<- source ):
