Well, I just revisited some old trailers after a few months, and... what do I see?

"**** you!"
"**** you!"
"**** YOOOOOUUUUUUU!"

...seriously?

That's EXACTLY what I'd say to the script writer if I had a conversation with him...

Gameplay looks alright, but me thinks Ninja Theory needs to hire a MUCH MUCH MUCH MUUUUUCCCCCHHHHHH ****ing better script writer or the game is gonna tank... not that the DMC series has had good scripts, but it wasn't that bad before.

Bought DMC4 cuz I didn't have a clue what DMC was like and wanted to find out.
Bought DMC3-SE cuz I wanted to know more about Dante cuz after DMC4 it had seemed like Nero was the usual hero and because people kept telling I should play DMC3 to find out why Dante is so awesome.

Okay, I broke down and bought DmC on Steam. I had a gift card, so it softened the blow (to my wallet) somewhat, and I was itching to try Vergil's Downfall.

PC > 360 > PS3 doesn't even begin to describe it.

Saying the PS3 version still provides an enjoyable experience... is a lie.

The PC version looks obviously better in just about every way. It also runs at a far higher framerate as well.

Some models (especially environment) still look meh... especially now that I can see them at high res, but... I guess I can live with it. No more blurry textures, undefined gob of... something, or psychedelic mess of red. Everything is clean and clear. Now I'm convinced this game MUST be played at a high resolution.

Except the PC frame-rate is a dodgy jumping maneuver between locked 30FPS content and then whatever FPS range your system can manage.

Also everything being clear is only true at absolute max settings, just one notch down and the graphics get catapulted almost a decade into the past in some cases.

I don't get people problem with the FPS. My system is between 30 and 50 fps and I don't have stuttering or unpleasant elements like that.

Huh ? Not at all. Some people said they couldn't catch the difference between the high and extreme settings. I can't give you a source, I found it after a random google search about DmC's PC mods.

Anyway, the game is also a matter of gameplay, Damn it. Do you guys just buy games to drool staring at your screen ?

Gameplay doesn't apply if everything is blurry as hell (in this case no, I don't mean they did a good job of representing hell), and virtually zero effort to even try and make the game match up to current standards was put into various parts of the game like the sequence driving to Dante's house.

The first and most important thing for a game I'm supposed to play is that it always has to be sharp. I absolutely can't take blurry games and for this reason will 9.6/10 times turn any post processing off I can despite any benefits. If the game isn't sharp it's nearly impossible for me to focus right and thus for me to play right.
I at first tried to play DmC at lower settings to retain above 60 FPS at all times but that made Limbo into a giant fog of everything that blurred anything more than 5 meters away into total obscurity. I had to raise the settings to their max to get the sharpness and clarity I wanted FPS be damned.

And dude it's utterly frustrating for a game to jump between 30 and 50-60 FPS at random. Some cutscenes are locked at 30, others play at normal ingame render speed and yet they're both rendered the same way and then of course you get the actual gameplay running at whatever combination of FPS your GPU can push out at your settings. It's like self-induced stutter and the AC series also suffers from it heavily.
