Fighting psycho mantis. How do I switch controller ports? Everything is greyed out in-game. I have port 1 and 2 both configured as pad 1 because every other option is greyed out. This shit is so annoying. How do I switch the port mid-game? And please explain it in great detail because I've looked all around the internet and none of the fixes I found have worked. This is pissing me off a lot. I'm using the same controller for both ports, how do I get the emulator to recognize that I am switching ports?

I don't think that both controllers set to the same pad will work.
Just set pad 1 in port to the keyboard just to beat this flight.
Alternatively you can beat Psycho with pad in port 1, you gotta destroy the statues in the room, but you may have to die a few times until campbell's tells you about it, or just keep calling him.
