first i had to turn on odd/even bit hacking in pete's video plugin to even get the game to start past the title screen... everything works fine (except a slow down in the menus to about 30fps) until i open up the "elemental" section in battle, then fps goes down to less than 1 and i have to slam the esc key over and over so i can get out of the game

Post hardware specs as well as plug-in config and version of Epsxe whenever you post a new topic as far as having problems with games. It will save alot of time.

As well as taking the time to read at least the stickies about the game you have problems with, or using the search function, or rtfm...
