1 - FPS. My benchmark for this has been the opening credit scene for FFX where they're all sitting around the camp fire, as this is where the FPS seems to be stressed the most. On the full camera pan, the FPS will drop into the low 30s, whereas the closing zoom on Tydus' face as he stands on the cliff overlooking the ruins caps in the 60s. Entering the game, FPS generally wanders between mid-30s to 50fps, you can imagine the average. Here are my CPU & Graphic settings along with system info:
As well, the punch from 2.6 to 2.73 didn't result in a noticeable increase in FPS; I admit I'm slightly afraid to further push the OC higher for fear of damage, but I've also heard reports that this particular MoBo ain't the best for OCing.
ZEROGS definitely performs better than that other guy.
So, have I exhausted all my options or is there something more I can do? Also, I noticed the CPU config only recognizes my processor as an AMD type, but doesn't list specifications like actual family, etc, could that be a factor? Thanks for help on this.
2 - You know the video cutscene when Tydus goes to play ball? It outputs really scrambled such that I can't see a thing but the hear the sounds in a very choppy manner. This occurs less so in the New game menu for FFX11, where its drastically more viewable, but very choppy. Is there a fix to this, or should it be expected?
Again, thanks for all tips for a newb.
I've noticed that Bilinear Filtering and AA have minimal impact on FPS whether on or off, in my case at least. Further frame limiting makes FFX unbearable to look at for long, as well as, though higher FPS, is visually the same as Normal limiting @ lower fps.
