Actually I have stumbled a glitch
involving Gau and Relm
it is sort of a trick to give you
some hard to find items
such as excalibur and ragnarok

Umaro, Gau, and the stupid painter girl. You can tell how much I don't like her, considering I don't even care to remember her name. They're bad characters and have no particularly interesting stories. Sure, you could say the same thing about Gogo, but I like imagining Gogo is another character, making her have a decent enough background.

Dual wielded atma weapon... did you get the second one from stealing from a goddess or cheating like a little wuss boy The freak in the orange robes (Gogo) Is the highest adaptable character as you can set every command he has (since you dislike him I am guessing you didn't set which commands he had so he only had mimic... )

 

Locke is not the weakest char
in fact in my final boss game
he inflicted at level 50 something
damage amounting to 16,000 per turn at full hp
that's right 16 k I don't think Cyan can inflict that
much damage in one turn
behold the power of the dual wielded Atma weapon
beat that Cyan Hehehehehehehe

 

My usual party would consist of something like Terra, Sabin, Edgar, and Cyan. I had them all leveled up to the max and could defeat anything!

 

It looks like we have the same opinion. When fighting the final battle, I will select Terra, Sabin, Edgar & Celes to be the first team to fight Kefka. I love Terra and Celes for their high magic stats. When Terra morph, she would be very strong and Celes is pretty convenient with the runic blade. Sabin is physically strong with Bum Rush. Edgar, well, he's my favourite character, and he's also strong with his tools.

 

I always used Terra, Sabin, Edgar and Celes. All my characters were pretty rock solid as I leveled them up to the max
I didn't really use Mog (Got too late), Umaru (Same), Gau (Don't like 'Blue Magic' style attacks), Relm (Same as Gau), but it's not that they were really weak.

 

give him the good fish all the time, but only the good fish, the tasty fish, and never the shi**y fish, anyways, i didnt like umaro, gau, or the guy who dressed like a freak in orange robes, or relm... but i did like cyan, and also one of my favourite characters was setzer, the guy was cool

 

now come on... is there any char in ff6 wich we don't like ? I mean... at least for me there isn't not a single one that isn't cool (altought I have my preference for Locke and Celes, wonder why ?). Even the bad ones are great (who doesn't enjoys Kefka's evil laugh and nasty tricks ?).
BTW I don't want to sound dumb but... how do you save Cid ?

actually, mog was one of my favourite characters, he had his good points too, and i think some of his dance moves were extremely useful in some parts of the game, but my favourite characters are sabin and edgar, edgar has all those cool tools and sabin is throughout most of the game (cept at the end) the most powerful character...

yeah ofcourse, but i always got bored and gave him some poisonfish

btw i know it wasnt doomsday, i just forgot what the second world was called, and there was a big explosion, so i just said doomsday, most of the world was damaged anyways

 

Celes is one of the STRONGEST characters... locke on the other hand is pretty useless through out the game... but you have to deal with him as a lot of story is channeled through him. (if you refuse to take locke to Kohlingen you lose a lot of background info on him and his past etc.)

In every FF game there are 2 real spell casters (they are the most powerful even if everyone can use magic) in FF6 that's Terra and Celes (for obvious reasons) And runic is an awesome ability if used correctly... the whole thing with it is timing.

How can you hate the opera scene? It's nice and you can sit back and enjoy a break...

As for the only good FF game... have you even played any of the others? FF4-9 all have really great stories and most have unique game play (FF8 was to unique for some... but I liked it)

Anyone else want me to spew FF6 knowledge at them?

EDIT: The only weak characters in my mind are the "bezerk" characters (Umaro, Mog, Gau) They all have their place for being powerful but without control characters are pretty useless

 

I don´t think that Celes and Locke are the weakest chars... as a matter of fact, Celes with the Atma weapon rocks, she is strong and different to what you think Runic it´s pretty useful (specially when you are running out of MP) plus she is pretty powerful. Locke's stealing ability makes him an unvaluable member of the party. Actually I don't think that there are weak chars in FF6, I think the balance it's perfect.

Argh, please tell me I'm not the only one (again) that believes Locke and Celes were the 2 weakest characters in that game. Locke was fun for about 5 seconds after you do the offering/capture glove crap, but Celes' runic has absolutely no use at all save a FEW boss battles.

The start of the world of ruin with only celes is about the second most aggrivating part of the game, but waiting for the Opera scene to end after you've beaten the game 4 or 5 times still takes the cake. Other than that, this is not only my favorite FF (well it was the ONLY good FF in my eyes), not just my favorite RPG, but favorite game, period.

 

hmmm not doomsday... and the world doesn't split in half... The world's surfaced into what is called with World Of Ruin as the 3 goddess statures aren't in balance like they were (hence the first world was world of balance)

You can save Cid but it brings no benefits so what's the point?

hmm... i gotta beat ff6 once again, pretty cool and addictive game. probably one of the best games i ever played.

 

my game must have messed up
my level is low but i have the fire dance
i got it right away after i defeated vargas
but seriously, even though my level is lower than
my friend, i have a complete set of 7 blitz
and his Sabin's level is extremely high(in
the mid game of course) about 10-15 level higher
he is a level up freak hehehehehe
maybe this skill is not entirely dependent to your level

I agree. I only got Fire Dance when I was in Zozo, waaaay later in the game. I'm one of those guys who don't level much (not that you need high levels for the game anyways).

Yeah, I just realized that the fire dance was that half-circle blitz move that Sabin does.
