Island that looks like a Scorpion, on the left side of the map called Island closest to Hell and on the Right side is a almost full circular Island a bit norteast from Eshtar called Island closest to hell.
The Monsters here give the best but are also the hardest so be prepared

Yeah I did the same. Until I just got lazy and all I did was fight that enemy you get Energy Crystals from. You know...the guy in Esthar that laughs when you talk to him.

it's almost pointless to level up in ff8 anyways. the enemies get harder when your characters are higher in levels.

In my opinion, FF8 is the most easiest in the series if you know how to...

no, this isn't true, if u only level up to level 50, and don't have Squall's final limit, then the last enemy can give you some problems.
just cause the monsters get harder as you get better, doesn't mean leveling up is pointless, its better than FF7. in FF7 if you get to about a level 60, all the monsters become insanely easy and the final boss was WAY to easy. Especially with Clouds Omnislash

 

You don't need to be level 60 to have Lionheart.
At lower levels, monsters don't have some of the more annoying spells, and they have less health.

I agreed. Don't say about the final enemy, if you want to defeat Omega Weapon, I'm sure you have to level up. Sure you can get Lionheart without leveling up, but I assure that if Squall uses his Renzokuken, its damage will go like this: 1110, 987, 1025... and Lionheart will be like this: 4500, 4700, 4444...
That's because your strenght is low.

 

anyway, leveling in FF8 is damn easy, alwasy 1000xp to go... so you just get Quistis' spell (Degenerator) and instantanely kill any monster at islands closest to hell and heaven... from lvl 54, i got to lvl 100 in about an hour

 

Yup, I killed a Ruby Dragon and I went from Lv 67 to Lv 69.

Oh and when you said the final boss was easy with Omnislash, did you mean the last fight where its Cloud vs. Sephiroth?
And finally, did you get KotR?

 

bosses get more hp when you get higher in levels. they gettouher. and you could beat ff8 in low levels (and still get lionheart).

 

The final boss in FF8 is very easy with the Omnislash and with the spell that let you make this attack every turn (i don't remeber the name) if you ignore your turn with the x button until the limit apear

 

I never levelled up once in the game, except for the starting point, which was mainly about an hour spent drawing ice from those frickin monsters on the beach.

I never level up in any RPG, as I feel it makes the game way too easy, and I like a challenge.

 

my main party consisted of quistis and rinoa, and they were both above level 80 (squall was 100). then, when i switched those two with zell and selphie (who were only around level 30), all the enemies got so easy. good way to get past some tough areas.

 

I always used Rinoa and Selphie. (Obvious reasons. )

 

no quistis? thought she looked better than selphie.

 

No, I thought Selphie was the hottest of the FF8 girls, but that's just me. Rinoa was second best. Quistis, well, she just didn't really appeal to me that much.

Yes i admit, Ruby Weapon was difficult, but Emerald was rather simple, and not the final with Cloud and Sephiroth, but the fight against Savior Sephiroth, or whatever you call him, i used Omnislash once and attacked once and he died, and yes i did get Knights of the Round. i got a gold Chocobo by breeding and got KotR

but i think getting KotR was much harder than getting eden off of Ultima Weapon

we just don't see sephie in that many fmvs. mostly rinoa, and i'm glad.

 

Yeah, but the first FMV with selphie is almost worn out on my disc. *drool*

Besides, who can forget the ending video with Selphie?
