I have been trying for a while to get the Pcsx2 Emulator to work marginally well on my computer, so here is what I have:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 4600+ 2.4GHz
2 GB of RAM
Radeon X1650 512 MB

I have the recent version of Pcsx2 with my bios in the folder and selected under configuration. Trying Drakengard 2 and Disgaea 2, I have tried multiple video options, but it all resulted is choppy, stuttering voice (3fps or so, going faster and slower at intervals) and video. I tested it with the null video (only sound), and the sound got very choppy in the same fashion. I used EFP ISO to copy the PS2 games to my computer, but both the ISOs and running the games in the DVD Rom churned out the same lagging/choppy video and gameplay.

Any advice that you could offer would be great because I know I have a good computer, but it just isn't working to any usable for me so far.

I am using ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.96.0 at:
Interlacing: No
Bilinear: Yes

AA: No
Wireframe: No
Capture: No
ScreenShots: No
Fullscreen: No
Screen Size 640x480

I just tried it without Bilinear on, but that didn't improve it at all. It still goes from 2fps and hops to 26 for about 1/4 of a second then goes to 10fps, etc. As I said, I tried it with that video option set to null and got the same effect with the audio, so I don't think it is a video setting.

Just re-downloading right now. I tried the shader pixel thingie on the GSD, but it didn't change anything.

Same thing is happening with a fresh install. Once I get to the gameplay it is a slow 11-13fps.

Playing Disgaea 2 has the fps saying from 40-50 and sometimes over a hundred, but the voices/sounds will play multiple times like when this: "Are-are you rea-really g-g-going to to to go th-through with this-s-s" etc. The video follows the slowdowns/stops/skips of the game.

This is in the command window before I start:

After having restarted and closing background applications, Disgaea 2 is working well. It slows down on special effects and any videos it plays, but it is playable ^_^ Going to test some 3D games and see if they work at all.

It seems that all of my 3D games slow down to about 30%-40% of their run speed without anything flashy going on. Is there any way to increase the run speed on 3D animation, in-game videos, and particle effects?
