Has anyone tried it? Found any compatibility problems? I'm downloading the 64 bit version now, planning to make it my primary OS. I'd like to be sure it works ok with Dolphin first.

Nice to know about that! :)

Please understand that you have Windows 7 BETA and you will need a fully Windows 7 version when the BETA expire this August. Correct me if I am wrong.

I knew that.. but I will wait for August anyway. Now, I know that it is better than Vista. :D

Testers who provide alot of feedback may get free licenses for the RTM release.

apparently if you've bought a new pc after july you'll get 7 discounted or free.

i hope students get discounts on windows 7, it's such a brilliant OS. faster even (dare i say?) than the legendary windows xp

I've tried it on Win7-x64 and it doesn't work at all :( I get an OpenGL error that says;

... which I guess is down to only having "preview" drivers from ATi. I can't use D3D for "Umbrella Chronicles" either (black screen, just audio) :(

=Edit=

Fixed it! As I said in the OpenGL thread, the issue WAS caused by the preview drivers. I simply uninstalled them and ran the standard 8.12s for Vista x64 and they work great. No more OpenGL issue. Shame going to 64bit hasn't given any performance increases on Umbrella Chronicles, heh.

Great I think it'll be downloaded by the time I get home from work. Within the next few days I want to have it up and running.

If I choose the upgrade option, will it import over all my documents and programs, or do I need to do everything manually?

omg windows seven is fabulous!!! Everyone whos using vista should upgrade now, seriously. Its as fast as xp and looks like vista with alot of improvements. I have had a HUGE performance increase in media playing. Ironically i have had a big decrase in performance in dolphin. It may be the graphics drivers, im still using 178.91 or something from nvidia for vista x64

...the only drawback of Windows 7 is the fact that its still beta.
Hence I'd also recommend going for Dual Boot, or even just VM if you only want to try it out.

Knowing from other Microsoft MVPs, Windows 7 is going to have Version Number 6.1 (you can also check that in the beta), and in general be an improvement to Windows Vista, along with some new features like the kicker-like Taskbar, and Multitouch for Surface-like Hardware. The main improvements are performance things (like someone said already), whereas some people even say that the beta even beats XP performancewise. I tried it in a VM, and have to say its fast (a lot faster than Vista), and its going to be my next OS when its out.

Oh crap, went off-topic :x

Can u help me with this?

I have the full version of W7 (not BETA). Before it I had W Vista. The emulator worked very well on it. But now on W7 it breaks at the beginning after a few seconds from emulating the game. For instance When I enter in Muramasa: The Demon Blade it gets stucked after a few seconds hearing the same fragment of the background song repeating....

What can I do?

I use the 32 bit version.

Hi. I use x64 windows 7 enterprise and sometimes muramasa hangs in my pc too. I notice that: it hangs when windows change the desktop. I have active the desktop change every 30 minutes. Not sure but it seems so (svn 4012). Have to test again...

set the compatibility properties in dolphin to disable Desktop composition and themes.
