No it doesn't come installed on vista, you have to download it. I know of only one game (demo, really) that uses DX10... "Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions". I'll note that it doesn't run on Vista with a GeForce 7900 GTX, but that's not a DX-10 card anyways (and I only have DX-9c installed).

There's the Company of Heroes DX10 "upgrade" as well. Don't bother unless you enjoy WW2 slideshows.

Dunno what version your using but with Vista Ultimate it comes with it, as I still have not done any online updates and it still says I have DX10.

Im also fairly sure you cant install Direct X 9 in Vista, thus why the DirectX 9 EX is present... (I could always be wrong)

really? a lot of people had performance boosts with it, strangely lol. to be fair tho, you have to get the new nvidia drivers especially optimized for that game

Check this out...

Alky Project

As a fitting start to this blog, I'm proud to release a preview of our Alky compatibility libraries for Microsoft DirectX 10 enabled games. These libraries allow the use of DirectX 10 games on platforms other than Windows Vista, and increase hardware compatibility even on Vista, by compiling Geometry Shaders down to native machine code for execution where hardware isn't capable of running it. No longer will you have to upgrade your OS and video card(s) to play the latest games.
The guy claims that DX 10 has been hacked...

Direct X 10 Already Hacked, Claims Alky Project Initiator | Portal IT news :: Hardware, Software, Games, Internet, Security alerts

Now if he can pull this off like he says, this would be mega cool...No need to go to the limit trying to upgrade my video card...especially since I use a laptop...I'm thinking PCSX2:D :D :D

No, it's because you clicked with the wrong finger. Try your left index finger.
