I have the following configuration:

AMD64 4600+ Dual Core
M2NPV-VM Mohterboard
1.5GB RAM
NVIDIA Geforce 7300 GS 256RAM

I have debian and x-windows with icewm windows manager. Latest drivers from NVIDIA (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.19-pkg1.run).

I have build pcsx2 0.93 from source and I have try the bin also but both are running extremly slow even the logo with no game. I know that my PC configuration is not top of the list but It can be that bad.
When I open Zero KOSMOS OpenGL 0.96.2 graphics configuration I get a list of "Widget not found".
I have try Motor GP 2 and it is very slow and finaly it freezes. All the games are giving me maximum of 11.0 fps with average of 7.5.

I dont know if it's my configuration but I have made a lot of testings with diferent configurations with no luck.

Can someone help please?

Regards

Your card sux. Buy a better one, and MAYBE you will get a little fps grow. I don't know a lot about AMD, about it's speed compared to intel, so i can't tell, if your proc is good enough. But your graphics card really sux. REALLY. I suggest you a 7900 GS, or a 7950 GT. Or if you have probs with money, buy a 7600 GT. :thumb:

I didn't understand your prob with Zero. Are you having trouble with one game, or Zero doesn't run at all?

I suggest: buing a new card, and asking about the Zero problem.

Is the 4600+ OC'd? if not its gonna slow you down. And as stated b4 the vid card also is bad. Depending on how much you can spend i'd reccomend a 8500GT if your limited on funds, or obviously an 8800 card if otherwise. Ignore the reviews on the 8500GT, it runs fine -AS LONG AS YOU OVERCLOCK IT-. Overclocked it gains about 200Mhz core and 200Mhz memory (from a stock 500/333). Benchmarks definately show this performance growth. Personally though if your not gonna OC the CPU your gonna have to get a 5000+ or better for decent speeds. But this all depends on how you have your system setup and config's.
(I shouldnt be able to run alot of things on my video card that i do :p)

ps- 8500gt (from gigabyte) has a volt mod so your core and mem can go higher than i had said

Dont buy a 8500GT. Seriously. It is quiet possibly the worst DX10 card ever released in terms of bang per buck.

If you are going to buy a new graphics card, wait for the 8800GT or 2950Pro. They are going to be cheaper than the 8800GTS, and will perform better than current gen of the 8800GTS.

Now im really confused. As pointed out you cant play a single game, then you say youve played Moto GP 2, then you say "all games are giving me 11fps" all 1 games?

Moto GP is slow anyway, even on a quick machine.

Sorry if my message confuses you.

I cant make a game fully playable. It starts but then stack with a black screen etc. But thats might be that my games are not fully compatible. The main problem out of this is that the emu when it's trying to run a game it's very very slow.

As I said my configs are listed in my first post.

The machine that I will be running PCSX2 is a mythtv machine so it will run myth at the same time when running the emu. So what do you suggests to get for a Graphics card?

In addition, a good graphic card will solve my slow down problem? or I am going to need a better CPU also?

Thanking you in advance.

Yes I know the list. MotoGP it's says ingame so it has some problems.

As I said I will be running mythtv on the machine at the same time and I will be calling a game to play with pcsx2 within myth. What would be the best solution or at least a problem free solution to have and play compatible games with my current machine for a new graphics card or CPU having that in mind that also mythtv will be running on the machine?

Is just byuing the 8800GT will solve my problem with speed? or I will be needing a CPU also?

Ofcaurse I would be happy to have the cheapest solution for my problem.

I'd give the graphics card more priority than the CPU, but you'd probably need a new CPU too if you want full speed in most games (If you're seriously considering, I suggest you wait till January before making your final decision. New graphics cards and processors are going to be released by then ie 9800GTS/X and Penryn respectively)

I have just plug an Nvidia 8600 GT 512MB ram from a friend to test and still I get the same speed with the emu.

It must somewhere else the problem. I have a speed of 8.5 to 9 fps even with the new card.

Thanks for helping

Are you try in FFX of monsterhunter on you spec I suspect it problem in some game you play Because My Brother 's PC it Lower spec than you it can playable much game in 20-30 FPS ^^ you can try more before you pay ^^
PS. 7300GS it lower GPU on PCSX2 you can used 7600GT + or ATi X1950 +

What do you mean 'FFX of monsterhunter'?

I have play a bit with the settings of graphic card but with no luck on any improvement.

I am confused. I see people in the forum that have less powerfull PC than mine and can run compatible games at at least 35~45 fps.

My configureation is:
AMD64 4600+ Dual Core
M2NPV-VM Mohterboard
1.5GB RAM
NVIDIA Geforce 8600 GT 512RAM

Debian with X-windows + icewm window manager and I have try to run Kingdom Hearts which is a compatible game from the list and I can play it but still the speed is at 7~8 fps max and my CPU usage is at 96.3%. Is there something wrong with my configuration?

I play it from DVD disk. Here my Graphics config:

ZeroGS 0.96.2
Interlace enable Checked
Bilinear filtering Checked
Anti-aliasing for higher quality:
None Checked
If I set this to X2 or X4 I get:
Cg error: CG ERROR: Invalid parameter handle.
Failed to create shader 1,0,0,5
Segmentation fault.

And Default Window to 640X480

Any idea what is going wrong?

My PC is not that bad for this performance. What is the linux users use for Desktop manager? Is this important for pcsx2? Because I use only window manager and not desktop manager.

Thanks for helping
