when i entered the Fire cavern to complete the SeeD test, i found that every battle scene in the cavern seem to be blurred. Can anyone help me with this problem?:(

By the way i'm using:

epsxe 1.5.2
Petes opengl 1.65
Eternal SPU 1.30
using iso file

It is supposed to be blurred in the fire cavern. Off screen drawing to 4 will cause visual artifacts in that game. leave it at 2 or 3.

It is normal. The PC version didn't do it because it was thought that it was too slow.

i really like the background texture in FF8 (for example: Balamb Garden Area ) when using Peops softGPU plugin. It is sharper if compare to PeteGPU plugin. I hope Pete can do something about this.

To prevent a huge discusion from this, those backgrounds are not sharper. The problem is lies with the fact that it is impossible to expand the pixels perfectly from 320 x 224 (that's the resolution square used for the game) to a nice even multiple. There isn't enough information in the backgrounds to do this, unless you create all new backgrounds.

So in practical limits there isn't much one can do about it, save play with the FSAA to smooth the background some. It's an artifact of using very different hardware to emulate the behavior of the guts of a PSX and the fact that you can't create more detail than was in the original game. It's much faster if you don't try to make it look better. The game is just as fun without having pretty backgrounds anyhow.
