I wish i had the option of playing without a ps2, couldnt take mine with me when i moved to my aunts place since it was half my sisters. So sadly i continue to upgrade my computer till i can play what little games i have. Next upgrade is my processor. Might help things a bit

 

Then chop it in half and take your share. That`d solve it .

Also Gran Turismo 3 is currently unplayable. Up until the most recent svn versions it wouldn`t even run. Though in the most recent versions (295 currently) you can actually get into the game and do practically everything except actual driving which is REALLY annoying. But atleast its progressed that far now.

Even if it ran at 30 fps I`d be playing it all the time . Such a good game, and I`m not that much of a racing fan either.

upgrading the processor would give a big boost to pcsx2 :thumb:
what models of core 2 are you thinking of getting?

 

a 3.6ghz core2duo should be enough to play GT4 with fullspeed, even at 2.6ghz its playable with 25-60fps, depending how much stuff you see.
but i dunno about GT3, never tried it.

 

I also would say:
CPU: Core 2 Duo @ 3,6 GHZ
GPU: Maybe one of the Nvidia 8800 series.

 

Or you can place your hope in PCSX2 0.96 or newer (required alot of patience though ).
By the way, what final fantasy - like games I can play with 40-60 fps with my specs now ? (I got Disgaea I & II already) :

Since my budget is limited, and my ps2 had just broken beyond repair last night, I cant just buy any game that can't be played well.

 

a second hand ps 2 is like 100 $, if you worry about space then buy a 14' tv . or can you plug a ps2 to a monitor?

 

Since I just want a good game to play through my incoming holidays, buying another ps2 is unnecessary.
