As has been mentioned many times before, the CVS hasn't been updated for a while so there'd be no advantage in compiling it. So if you don't want to have him ask questions about it, don't mention it in the first place!

Back on topic please.

Now I see why you people get annoyed with everyone asking when the speed will increase...and how much they will get on their system...

It seems that everyday its a new person asking it, then its a person thats been around for awhile that asks it...bah

Heh. Might as well do it like some forums where they post screenies to a locked thread, so only useful mod/betatester posts can be added, while letting the populace admire them without hijacking the thread. Btw I can answer your question tarzan: omg sux0rz, 4.7 fps avg, get new pc kthxbuy.

Wait till the next release, buy a super computer, make your own emulator, buy a PS2, you have many options ;)

Seriously until 0.9 comes out thats the best you're going to be able to get from emulation of FFX, and when will 0.9 be out I hear you ask? Within the next few months, late Jan to late Feb.

Emulation of the PS2 is pretty darn complex, heck after 3+ years of this project being done, we've only just cracked making FFX, FFX-2 look darn sexy! so enjoy the video and shots, and know you to will soon be able to enjoy this, but as for speed, sadly there isn't much hope of that improving until the emulator has optimisation, and computers become way more powerful!

mh..
my pc (athlon XP 2000+,Geforce 6800) don't have SSE2
no world rendering,no sound

but my Notebook (acer Travelmate 292)
Centrino 1,5GHZ, Radeon 9700 have SSE2,
the intro of FFX runs with 12 FPS!,without World rendering.
then when the camera change and i see Lulu, the Emulator freeze.
if i load a Savegame in Menu, the emulator crash with an windows error message.
On disable SSE2 the emulator runs exactly the same as on my PC without crashes.

Refraction found a bug in the SPU2 that was causing video not to work, and so now it seems that FFX video may be making a comeback.:D

I use windows. Shots below demonstrate howfar you can get without a memcard save before the game will 'loop' on sound. (soon to be fixed we hope ;) )

However if you have a memcard save, Refraction has recently fixed video :) oO

Pretty much the b,z,z (wait, but no action) issue, along with a few vu issues that cause it to suddenly stop drawing any tri's..otherwise I hate to say it, but we're looking at a pretty stable build that could VERY SLOWLY play through atleast a reasonable part of FFX...though lets not go down that line until it happens.

This video fix also means that other videos are starting once again to show some stuff ;) But this could get broken all over again if a fix causes issues...so don't hold your breath atm folks! Also note that video playback is messy with a epilepsy warning needed, as it flickers black alot!

Yay, nice screens! It's just that ...

... i'm feeling like the donkey behind the carrot. And i started running a year ago soon (well in may).

Still, nice pics. Just so sick and tired of reading great-work-threads every time a betatester finds the screenshot button.
Release it, or keep it. Plain changelogs will do fine for the news page. You just make us drool ... alot ... like ... "where's the damn drool-smiley?" :S

This is called informing you with pictures, which in all fairness we don't do that much and get moaned at when we don't. It's not every time we find the shot button, it's when something sexy like this happens.

The carrot chase will end sometime between late Jan and late Feb, good grief you whine when we show you information and progress, and you whine when we don't, yeesh!

Most people wouldn't understand the significance of various aspects of a changelog, thus pictures are a nice simple form.
