Help Problem with A USB HDD

Well i pluged a new HDD but now when i try to Safely Remove Hardware then it says The device Generic Volume cannot be stopped right now.Try stopping the device again later :???:

Anyone know how to fix this and unplug my USB

that happens to me sometimes too. i just stop everything from accessing it and i pull it out.

Heheh fixed it :idea:

Only needed to restart the PC and then disable the VirusScan :laugh:

See that icon on the task bar? Right click it, not left. Wait about a second and the name of your flash drive will pop up. Select it and it will be removed. Thats if you are using xp. if you are on 98, then go to my computer, select the removable drive, and choose eject.

Just keep pressing F5(refresh) while on the desktop and then try to disable it, works for me.

AFAIK all you need to do is to make sure nothing is writing/reading the drive, then remove it.
