no matter what i use the game doesnt look properly like the graphics dont look good on the psx they look a bit crappier and this really ruins the game for me its like fore example you see some trees psx screenshots there smooth but on the psx emulator they look a little grainy

and also if i use any other video plugin besides peops i will get black lines over the borders but when i use peops software plugin everything is fine but no matter what plugin i use the graphics still dont look 100% like there suppose too

any one know how to get the game looking normal + get rid of the black lines using a diff plugin besides peops?

no, because i dont have the game. i wish i did :( i'm just giving you general tips.

try turning off 2xSAI, or changing it to hi-res textures (2)

I have this game, and using the latest peops, dont remember the n°.
BUT the game is running just fine.

if i change it to high res textures it will crash that only works with nvidia cards i think ill play around with it larer but im sure no matter what it wont change :(
no, hi-res textures works on ATI cards too....make sure you have some sort of texture filtering on.

btw if you want to change texture filtering on the fly (but not 2xsai or hi-res textures), press delete in game. press "insert" to bring up a little help dialog. from there move over to the filtering settings using Page Down and change the options with Home or End. see what makes it look good.

cool ill try that out

oh when i meant the viery high textures not working i meant the internal X thing you know where it says (crashes are possible)

ah, well there's a difference. ATI users cant use Very High X internal resolution, that's correct. but i was speaking of the 2 options underneath texture filtering (stretched and 2xsai)

ok has any one actually played Star Ocean 2 on ePSXe? and not ppl that are just guessing cause thats not helpful.

If i play it on any other plugin besides peops i will have black lines etc and no matter what settings i do it will stay black lines.

and if i use peops theres no lines but the world map looks crappy cause its 3d.

and the game still doesnt look right on any plugin.

any ideas? should i use a diff emulator?

With my GF4 Ti, I used Pete's regular OpenGL plugin. I just got my GF 6800 in this comp(waiting on the rest of the stuff). I'll give the OpenGL 2 plugin a try and see if I can find out what works best.

Took a quick try and this seems to work just fine for me. Filtering is your personal opinion though.

EDIT: I JUST realized what you ment by those black lines. It happens to me too, but they don't bother me.

This is what he's talking about:

neither of you guys have answered my question...what happens if you turn off filtering and hi-res textures completely?
ok i just tried it all the black lines etc glitches are gone but the game looks VERY ugly like little blocks so im gonna try with it off and using FSAA

Ok it seems this game doesnt like Hi Res Textures if i put it on 2xsai i will have black lines purple lines etc but its ok with the texture filtering on the game works but still doesnt look good.

any ideas?

well i finally got it to work perfectly and it looks exactly like the playstation

what i did was put texture filterting on 6 and high res textures on 0

now the game doesnt look very good so i pressed "delete" and played around with the settings in the middle i forget the first one made the lines all over then the next one made the game look perfect with no lines

:yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
