These are not recommended for fx cards, i think they´ll run OK on nV new card... I keep my 56.72, they work good, BTW my fx5200 came with dets 53.03, how do I enable vertical sync on those drivers??? I hate seeing pro evolution soccer with vertical lines...

no graphics card was "designed to use a certain driver". well it's believe that, for example, GeForce MX cards work best with the old 30.82s, in general you should keep em up to date.

so just get the 56.72s, they are good. the starstorm ones are great :)

Would the starstorm's help my gForce2 MX?
meh, they dont really help much---unless you choose the "super performance" mode---which really kills your IQ (image quality).

the reason i use starstorm is because it fixes a horrible, horrible problem i've had with 1024x768. the screen would always be about 1/8 of the way OFF the screen. with the starstorms, it's fine :)

For you guys that are having problem with image placement - why not use the Auto adjust feature/button on your moniters? This "should" fix the problem.

nope, doesnt work, trust me. it only did it in 1024x768 under the following circumstances:

refresh at <75 hz on desktop
in any game at any refresh

but hey, now it's gone so no biggie

The general consensus may be that these drivers "suck", but at least for me and fivefeet8 they work and work well. Makes me kinda wonder (no offense ment) what you other people might be doing wrong when it comes to these.
Work perfectly for me w/ePSXe, Z26 (latest version), Gens (latest version), and Sacred.
Um, Mauros Web, "These are not recommended for fx cards", then what, pray tell, ARE they recommended for? :???: That sounds like a very silly statement to me. They're Nvidia's latest Forceware drivers and they aren't recommended for FX cards??? Hmmmm, I doubt that very strongly. Very strongly indeed.
hushypushy, yep, better than the 57.62 and I was using StarStorm's Quality tweaked 57.62 drivers at that. These are better, at least to me they are.
sincerely,

Emulators arent the only software available you know, One of my games completely stopped working with them.

well let me come between both sxamiga and chrisray here. for some people, they wont have problems because it just doesnt matter. since that's what sxamiga plays, he hasnt found a problem. with other people, it may be a different story.

most people dont use starstorm....i do because it fixed my problems. that's why they make so many driver versions, to try to make everyone happy :)

Thank you for the moderating hushypushy, it is appreciated. But again I must state that these drivers are excellent as far as I'm concerned. Yes ChrisRay I do know that emulators aren't the only software available, who doesn't? That is why I mentioned Sacred. Sacred is a PC game, a high end PC game at that and it works excellenty w/the 60.72 drivers. I am sorry that your game, what ever it was, stopped working w/them. But just because it did, is no reason to call them or assume they are "crap". 'Nuff said.
BTW, these drivers are actually intended for the new 6800 line of Nvidia cards that are coming. To read a very good review of the 6800 Ultra, head on over to guru3d. The 6800 Ultra definately sound like a video card that I will consider purchasing.

The drivers for me have been good so far, had no problems with my FX 5600, although I don't play many modern PC games. I can use the GLSlang modes in Pete's OpenGL2 without much problems and it looks lovely. Dusk and Tenebrae (with all the add-ons and features turned on) running well at 1024x768, 4xAA + 8xAF.

Then why are you implying it was user error? I dont need to be patronized.

Well let's say the drivers broke compatibility with Sacred or ePSXe (or any of the other software you hold dearly). What would you say then? Would you give these drivers such a solid rating as you do now? Everquest is a very important game for ChrisRay and the fact that he cannot run it using these drivers is a major issue for him (and would be for all other EQ players). In fact, any drivers that break compatibility with previous software is a serious problem. Granted these are beta drivers but ChrisRay did point out a major bug with them.

I also agree with ChrisRay that you seem to be patronizing him. In a previous post you indicated that he did something wrong, and in the post I quoted above you referred to his game as "what ever it was", indicating that you don't care for it enough to even call it by its name.

They are most likely intended for the GeForce 6800 cards. Note that Nvidia has dropped the "FX" with these cards. I think Nvidia would like to forget the FX series if at all possible.

dammit now i'm not top of the line anymore...these drivers wont be optimized for FX cards anymore...oh well that sort of crap happens.

OT: demigod, did you get a new CPU/mobo? i remember you having a 2500+ before...
