indeed..... that's the question.... if possible, they must feature a wide range of burning speeds (Nero only allows me to burn 8x or higher, while I need 2x :()

another thing it has to be for windows ;)

Plus, can anyone explain me how to burn audio Cds from wav files? (this is the first time I'll ever do it, can you believe it?)

My Nero bundle is full featured, I can burn at any speed with all of Nero's features.. no time limit either. :)

Best CD-Burning software out there. ;)

but that damn nero won't allow me to burn audio CDs properly (meaning all audio CDs are screwed).... plus, it is assured that cds burned at lower speeds are not so conflictive with non PC cd readers (like sound systems and vcd players)

I've no problem making audio cd with Nero, play it on my player just fine, I always burn at 4x or 8x cause at higher speed I sometimes get some hissing.

exactly what hapened to mejust dropped the mp3 fiñes on it (note, they were no WAVs, they were mp3, that's why i was asking how to make audio CDs from wav files) and my sound system won't read the disc (well you can't pick random songs, it has to be played all at once)... plus, when it reaches track # 10, it warps back to track 8.... and when you choose a specific song, it takes like 7 minutes to start playing..... plus, windows media player won't play it properly...

there shouldnt be any reason why fast burning would screw up your audio CDs. i've had friends that have burned at 12x and higher for quite a while (hundreds of CDs) and i've never noticed a problem....possibly the problem lies in your actual hardware, or files.

like thoughtless said, you can just convert them to wav. what i do when i need to do this is make a winamp playlist of my files, and use hte build in wav maker to output them, with the numbers first too so it's a nice playlist ;)

nero has become crap, and when i say crap i mean crappier than you think...
why the hell must nero install a dozen of completely unuseful tools??
what shall i do of a cover editor?? or an imagedrive?? or speed check tools (well, these are almost useful)?? tools to convert from/to every (un)known video/audio format, with very little control on it?? etc. etc..
if i want such things, i search for single programs that DO these things..
when i need a cd burner, i need a cd burner, not 24 applications in 1

switched to cdburnerxppro a few weeks ago, it's absolutely great..
the only strange thing is, that i couldn't find a cd-copy function, but that's no great problem to me...
if i really have to copy a cd, which happens rarely, i can just make an image first, and then burn it...
but nero is so l33t, isn't it?? :D

forgot some thins, me and my lazy ass... :p
-cdburnerxppro has a great function, which suggests a writing speed after checking the disc you have inserted.. i mean.. THAT'S GREAT!! (avoiding wasting cd's, especialy audio one's)
-for audio cd's, use mp3cdconverter. it's shareware, but it normalizes the entire audio files you want to burn...
this means that ALL the tracks will have the same volume and that the whole cd will sound right..

no sir...
the only way you can do this is to extract the installation files from the setup file (with winzip or any other similar utility: I use 7-zip)
this way i managed to only copy the nero directory (which is the burning program itself)
but way should i use this stupid method??
switch to another program, you won't miss anything, believe me

Well.... it almost worked..... the resultys are the same....in the stereo, it just gets to.... say... track # 10 and the begind sizzling chpping and looping back, even to ther tracks..... same happened in my DVD-rom drive (pc).... although the problem is not as big as the stereo, it is still there.... I am burning from WAV files using both nero and cdburnerxppro at 8x 8the lowest sped given by both programs.... amnd I keep having this problem......

The latest version of Winamp can burn CDs at 2x (which is a limitation of the free version of Winamp). To burn using Winamp, just open the Media Library, select your burner in the devices section, click the add button and select any files that winamp supports, then click burn and it'll burn at 2x.

Well.... there is still the possibility that both my stereo and my PC drivers are facked up.... as today I tried it in a friend's old discman, and it worked like a charm...... I gave a copy to another friend, so tomorrow I'll get results, and if so, then I guess I must change booth OS and stereo :p
