I didn't really like Half Life single player that much. I got bored of playing it after a few hours and never returned to it. The only reason I still have it is because of CS. On the other hand I liked how Halo's SP was put together, and found playing it to be enjoyable, rather than Half Life of witch I tried to play because everyone told me to.
Hey killjoy, how do you activate fastswtich on cs? (the one where you just click the respective number and your gun appears)
I remember it's something like mp_fastswitch 1, but i just can't get it to work

Hmmm, I don't remind every CS cvars since I kicked it from my drive months ago, but IIRC it's hud_fastswitch
BTW, there's a very cool command that shows the cmdlist, it's
cvarlist (for commands with variables)
cmdlist (for commands such as +reload)
you can type cvarlist or cmdlist followed by the start of the command you're looking for
For example: "cvarlist cl_" will show every cvar that starts with cl_

Half-Life, Hands down. All Halo has is the better gfx engine. Half-Life has some great story & lovely mods. Counter-Strike isnt the #1 played FPS for no reason ..

Sometimes, when you load a saved game, the cheats won't work till you have luck, or until you change the map (or restart the current one, but hemmm...)

I think that for being 5 years old and still going strong half-life is the best first person player ever to be conceived to date. It also started the multiplayer online that has spawned the rest of the games that have been made like it. I have extensive experience with this gamae because I have had it since before it was named game of the year. the good thing is i got it for free also. But I also have halo for xbox and I think it is the best fps console game ever made. If you read the halo books the story wont seem so boring.
I love both games (although the PC version of Halo wasn't what i was expecting).Who can forget the amazing AI of the marines in HL........but who also can forget the first stage of Halo (that stage is fantastic,one of the best i've seen and the perfect way to show the great NPC's of the game).Also both stories are really good for me.In the end i would vote for HL as it was the game that really took the FPS to the next level.But then again i would vote for Halo for it's breathtaking graphics which were way ahead of their time.So i don't vote,i just enjoy both games

Console Halo = Amazing, Ground-Breaking somewhat.
PC Halo = worst Console-To-PC Port ever ? 5 years late .
Half-Life = Best Multiplayer FPS, single-handedly created the genre .

well said...halo for x-box was on eof the most flawless console FPS's i ever played, halo pc wasnt the WORST but it wasn't great...just another FPS, and it was more like 3-4 years lateChaosBlade said:

Halo is indeed one of the most fun console FPSs around. But alas, you have the PC with games like Half Life... that completely whip halo in almost every category.
