Don't speak against Shakespeare :p
But you see, IMO Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series is even better than LotR. And it's much bigger too. When he finishes it the 7 volumes will have something around 5,000 pages.

Well, more, if you count the "overlaps" in his other works; like Insomnia and Hearts in Atlantis. Even though, technically, all of his work goes with the Dark Tower.

I put Wolves of the Cala on my Christmas list; I BETTER ****ing get it :innocent:

Good, another Stephen King fan ;)

If you take the "overlaps" into account you'll have to put a lot of books there. Even The Stand is related to the Dark Tower. And from what I've read, his recent short story "Everything is Eventual" is related to it too (Dinky is one of the guys that are destroying the links to the tower).

BTW, I looked at your profile and saw that you put "Plateau of Leng" in your location. So I gather that you're a H.P.Lovecraft fan too :)
(And "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath" is one of my favorite stories)

Anyway, I've yet to read The Wolves of Calla. But it's already on my to-read list ;)

H.P. Lovecraft's The Temple is one of my favorite stories of all time. The only thing that sucks about being an H.P. Lovecraft fan is that I can't buy any more of his books, because I already own every story he has ever written (but it does make it easier on the wallet). I did not have "Plateau of Leng" as my location until really recently. I went back an read At the Mountains of Madness for the first time. Which is really insane because it is one of the most important stories of his that explains SOOOO much of the Cthulhu mythos. And then it dawned on me: "**** Neo-Tokyo (my old location), Lovecraft is where it's AT!!!"

Also, on a totally random note- the Justice League cartoon had a Cthulhu episode recently; it was called "The Terror Beyond." They changed stuff around like having the main entity called "Ixthultu" or some such, but there was the old ones, and those guys with the mouths in their hands. Good Stuff.

The thing about Lovecraft (AND Tolkien), is that once you read their work you can see just how influential they have been.
