Compressed Audio Format?

Which format do you use, which would u say is the best,what gives u the best compression and sound quality at the time?

I use MPC -standard (~160KBps VBR). I've found it gives me the best tradeoff of audio quality / file size.

I use mp3. Not that I say it's the best, but meh, I don't feel like changing

IMO, aac is the best, but mp3 is so widely used that I don't see any format taking its place on the short term.

I use either 160kbps WMA (CBR), 192kbps WMA (CBR) or 240-355kbps WMA (VBR). ATRAC3 also sounds very good (best I've heard I think).

Well I use WMP9 to rip my music and I'm too lazy to try out EAC . Maybe sometime soon I'll try out some other music formats .

i use MP3 at 128kbps and it works great. however, i like .ogg better. the only reason i dont use it to encode is because it's a far less common standard, and when i send files to my friends, you would be surprised how many of them CANT PLAY THEM, and you need a special plugin for Nero to burn em etc etc.

but, i like ogg's compressibility better (the way it does VBR) and i like the tags better too

I use MPC 160kbps VBR, same as Lord Kane and for the same reason too.

awww crap i deleted some files made with mpc becuase i couldnt play em. where can i get a mpc plugin for winamp?

MPC hear too.
I use -quality 5 for my own cds and -quality 6 for those i borrow ^^

cause with my own cd I can always rip them again if I need higher quality. While I prefer having a bit higher quality headroom with cds I can't so easily get my hands on again...
