OMG The PSP seems to be faster than my computer!

Me neither. Well not without getting like 5fps. I dont even have pixel shaders ... :(

Well Looks like it will be out second half 2004. So Just in time for christmas. :D

well, consoles and PCs don't work the same anyways, so the MHz isn't something you can compare 1:1 to see which is better.

Nah your right. I mean especially in emulation. You gotta have at least double the power to run game decently. So it looks like I will have to upgrade for PS2 emu's ... :p

But the PSP looks like its gonna kick "N"'s butt! For god sakes it has Anti Aliasing!!!

"NURBS allow for true curved surfaces and sphere's, not blocky squared images that even next-gen consoles like the PS2 and XBOX are constrained to"

How do you play Mini-Discs (which are in a cartridge) in a device that only has a tray? The media for this thing will be similar to minidiscs, in that they are in a cartridge, but will have higher density media.
My guess is there will be some kind of CD drive addon if it's that poerful, so you can play your PSX/PS2 games.

As for linking it up the the PS2, it's not implausable as both the PS2 and this device have USB ports.

As for NURBS, didn't hte geForce 2 support that? If so that means we has it on the X-Box with the GF3

in reality, for what you're getting, $300 is a good deal. but if you're getting it just to play games, then...

4.5" isn't that small. It might be good if you can't be arsed to take your laptop. If you have it with you anyway.

Lord Kane, I agree that it's much better than nothing. but I can't imagine anyone would buy the system just for it's non-gaming attributes. Me thinks, Zapages, that if this system sells for less than $200 it'll be a minor miracle.

When he said Mini-Discs he meant mini-cd's

The PSP will use not the actual mini discs but another form called: Universal Media Discs (UMD)

I think they are doing this so people cant pirate games ... well at least ittl stop them for a while. But since this has USB they can crack it. :D

Yeah I posted about UMD earlier Razor Blade...have a photo of the disks too if anyone's interested. and Sony's promising unheard of levels of protection on this...they're going to try to stop people as much as possible I suspect. I'm sure there'll be some workaround though.

I realize you posted before but Kane seemed to think they were talking about actual mini discs ... :p

Yea I dont download roms and things so this is no threat to me. I think this handheld is gonna rock. Long live Sony!

;)
