Nay, the PC version kills the PS2 version in the graphics department. Add to that the Restless Dreams scenario, PC-style saving, and all the other benefits PC users have come to expect, and you are set.

In short, there's nothing about the PS2 version that the PC version can't do better.
Sounds good, I am getting the PC version, but do you thing my PC can handle it? /me points at my signature.

It's really difficult to say. I hear from some people that the game runs fast, but it's still hard to say. You will probably have to turn on simple fog at least. But if you are prepared to take a hit in the graphics department, you should be able to get a nice framerate.

Squall, I say that you'll be able to play SH2 on your PC, but on YOUR PC it's graphics won't be better than the PS2 version. I tried that on my cousin's rig.

I have just watched the trailer movie for Silent Hill 3 again. I was trying to spark some sort of interest in the game, but it didn't work. I just realized why it doesn't seem as appealing as SH2 to me.

For one thing, it's the music. Silent Hill 2 had very good music in its trailer that seemed very familiar to me, but I couldn't quite place it. I later realized it was a remix of Not Tomorrow from the first Silent Hill. The setting and game concept just seemed so RIGHT to me that I couldn't help but fall in love with the game right there.

Silent Hill 3 feels more akin to Parasite Eve 2 than Silent Hill, and I don't like that. The game concept and gameplay seem a LOT like Parasite Eve 2 to me, and the music doesn't sound much like Silent Hill, although it is a good effort I suppose.

Maybe I'll have to actually see this game in action before I start to like it. The trailer does nothing for me.

Ninja, I say we have exactly opposite tastes.

So far from what I know about SH3, I think it fixed the things for me which were wrong in SH2. Let's see if it tells the story in a better way.

Syed, sometimes when I read one of your posts, I just have to shake my head. This is one such time. :D

I really don't know why we both like Resident Evil. no doubt we see TOTALLY different things in the game. :D
I thought you didn't like RE :D

I am not sure about what you see in RE, but for me, its the gameplay, the story telling, its puzzles, its characters are just great.

Hey, I gave Resident Evil 0 a perfect score, and bought it almost right after it came out didn't I?

For me, I love the atmosphere in Silent Hill. It's cloying and claustrophobic, and it gives me some true emotional states from time to time. Not many games do that for me. The characters are your average people forced to do things that aren't ordinary. They are well done in that regard, and I love them for that. James and the character in my avatar and sig whos name escapes me at the moment is also one of my favorites.

Resident Evil.... I love its style and challenge. It's an old school game with a new twist. The story is simple as hell, but the characters, and atmosphere make up for that. It's just a game in the end (unlike Silent Hill or Eternal Darkness), but the challenge and atmosphere make up for that.

I hate the puzzles in Resident Evil and Silent Hill alike. The characters in Resident Evil are pretty flat, as is the story, although both are entertaining. I guess we do see different things. ;)

Believe me, IF I had bought a GC instead of PS2, I would have only played the REs. I wouldn't have upgraded my rig and I wouldn't have played SH2. Honestly, SH2 takes a very long time to get interesting, and the interesting part is really short. RE is interesting from the beginning to the end. But that's just my opinion.

What I see in SH3 is slight inclination towards RE style gameplay. They should make SH a lot tougher.

I think Sh2 Pc is Sooo much better than Ps2 because

1.Better graphic , you can run it at 1600*1200 If your computer fast enought
2.Save anytime
3.Better Sound Quality
4.Multichannel Sound , i think ps2 version support only stereo (correct me if i wrong) but in pc. you can choose up to 7.1 setup if your hardware support. Sound of monster lurking from behind is cool ..... trust me.
5. and better loading time cause everyting is installed on your hdd

Finally beat SH2...

... it traumatized me! I'm wondering if anyone can explain something about the extra scenario to me.

Why did Amy Baldwin kill herself and what did Ernest realize when you gave him that letter?

[End Spoiler]

Also, has anyone gotten the DOG ending on the PC? Can you post your save file please!? I'm too traumatized to go through that game again!

Aha...

I just realized that Amy Baldwin's death was accidental. Now everything makes sense since Ernest would never have known what would have been in the empty envelope she was holding. Heh, silly me. The game was so rife with suicidal undertones that I just assumed she killed herself.
