I just installed the Playstation emulator on my Windows XP 1.0 Ghz computer with 256 Mb of ram, computer. He is what I downloaded:

1. ePSXe151 (PSX program)

2. ePSXeCutor1051 (Pluggin)
3. Scph1001 (Bios)
4. gpupete161 (Pluggin/Pete's pluggin?)
5. spuEternal12 (Sound Pluggin)

I installed the program and added the other files into the Pluggin folder (Except for the Bios file). I then proceeded to run the set up wizard and choose the available options in each of the boxes.

One problem occurs when choosing the CD-Rom device. It asks me if I want to use Windows 95, or Windows 2000 interface. Since I have XP, I choose the Win 2000 interface. If I try and use 95, the window crashes and locks up. I have to manually shut down the open window.

It seems to work correctly in the Windows 2000 mode, with the exception of running at a very fast frame rate. Probabally two or three times the normal speed. I tried changing the settings under Options, Video, Frame rate (specified to 60 frames per second). I have even tried setting it to 5 frames per second, but there is no change in the speed. For some reason, the program is not accepting my settings after I have changed them , shut down the program, and tried restarting the program with the new settings.

Does anyone know how I can slow down the speed of ePSXe to a reasonable rate? Thanks.

I tried to limit it be specifying the frames per second to 60 and less, but nothing worked. Finally, I clicked on the bottom for video performance, Smooth, instead of speed, and it seemed to fix the problem by itself. Strange that the program would not take the changes I was making until I hit that button. O well. Thanks anyways for help. If you have any other suggestions on why my other method wasn't working, please let me know. Thanks again.

Did you set it at 60 FPS AND check the box "Use FPS limit"? It won't use that manual limit unless you check the box.
