Sooo I've been trying to get it to play right. I'm using Pete's open GL, I've tried using Kane's suggested setup, and I've played around with it.

It works for the most part, with only a little slow-down when I use special kills like the Ki burst, which I can just speed through by removing framerate limit.

The problem I'm having is when I get to the village in flames. It slowwwwwwsss downnnnnn like crazy, and I can't speed it up. I've tried the suggested fixes in the troubleshooting thread, but it doesn't seem to help much.

Any suggestions? (And is there any more information I should post to help?

System specs please as it sounds your comp is just too slow... Did you try other psx emulators like psx and ssspsx, as they may help.... As for the slowdown occurring and using framerate limit to skip, maybe the slowdown is on the psx, if not then try ssspsx, it helps preventing slowdowns like this

Processor: Intel Core i7-2720QM, 2.20GHz

8.00 BG RAM, 7.89 usable
64-bit operating system
NVIDIA QUADRO gfx card

Not sure what to include honestly.

Yes, pSX is much better in terms of graphics, I'm just having trouble mapping my controller, hahaha. It doesn't seem to map correctly when I configure it, and some of the button functions seem to just be missing. I'll keep playing around with it and say if I figure anything out.

I was looking at solutions for other, similar problems and I found one that worked for me.

I hit F7 when it started slowing to a crawl to make it full screen, then when the scene was over, switched it back. Seems to be working well for all these situations.
