It will likely be only Steam, just like the DmC release coming on January 25.
Capcom seems to have dropped using GFWL (Likely because of the 2 week delay between them submitting patches and Microsoft actually releasing them and the feedback they have received from people complaining about GFWL)

It will land with all console content as well as any future content that arrive as free title updates
?!?? This makes no sense. Why include in the game what couldve been chopped and sold?

With this and use of Steamworks, seems Capcom is getting more PC-friendly. Decently baked, I'll be getting this.

Capcom lately is trying to be more EVERYTHING friendly.

No more on-disc DLC, dropping GFWL for Steamworks with 2 titles now (DmC/RE6), removing QTE from RE6 due to fan requests and even giving out a free game (SFxMM)

They seem to want there good name back and I for one wish them luck because they are going the right way about it.

Um, You are seeing it. The proof is in what they are doing now.

Oh and CJ is well aware that they have been screwing up as well. It was CJ that has made sure Dragon's Dogma was the last game to contain on-disc DLC.
CUSA just convinced them by showing CJ the uproar it was causing on there USA forums.

And why can't I post ANYTHING Capcom related without you complaining?

Because I like Capcom games, they're not making it any easy on PC-based fans and for some reason you find offense in any opinion not unanimously enthusiast. Also, few others appear to comment here lately, giving those comments more visibility. It also has nothing to do with the origin of statements about Capcom, other than its mostly you doing the sharing (since youre mostly up-to-date with capcom-unity).

Declarations of intention mean little when only the finality counts.

Probably as an apology since the games reviews have been less than stellar.(not to mention their pc release shenanigans).

Its not that I am against criticism, but I think criticism should be placed where it is due.

In this case I honestly don't think it is.
Believe me, I have my fair share of issues with Capcom (Ridiculously late PC ports, DLC and patch releases) and have voiced my opinions on these issues (especially on there forums where I've almost got myself banned a few times for my aggression over late patches and DLC in particular) as they are still ongoing.

I actually would love to know how they think that releasing RE6 5 months after consoles is acceptable especially when the PC port of DmC is being released 10 days after consoles or how they can find it acceptable that SFxT is almost 9 months behind consoles or that it was 6 months after the last patch for SSF4AE for consoles that PC finally got it.

I just don't think its fair to continually complain about things they have fixed and have sworn to NEVER do again.

Oh and releasing SFxMM for PC exclusively I think is a good start, but without all the things I mentioned above getting fixed it really means very little.

Glad you dont have issues with their antics anymore. You're free to make that opinion your own. Others will still view verbal statements holding no weight with mixed enthusiasm, with solid justification based on their immediate past.

With promises made, only a release respecting those will satisfy the indecisive. That point is hardly debatable, and making it the basis of commentary reducing the opinion of what mightve been called naysayers/haters inapproriate.

I just have the opinion of "forgive and forget" due to the the fact that so far at least the promise of "No more on-disc DLC" has stayed true I see no reason to beat a horse.

Believe me, I'll be very quick to make a thread here complaining and spreading the word if they release a game with on-disc DLC or any other unacceptable practice.

A better example of my point....

If you have a child that does something naughty. Do you punish them once and then let it go or do you punish that child everyday for the next 6 months because you fear your child will do that naughty thing again?

You know the "on disc dlc" thing doesn't mean they aren't "withholding" content to sell later, it just means the files aren't on a the disc. I'm not even bashing them for it, but people were raging over nothing and are now not raging when nothing has really changed. The content wasn't part of the original development cycle or budget, which is why it doesn't function correctly when unlocked.

A point of irony to add...

Most people complained in particular about SFxT on consoles having a TONNE of on-disc DLC (in fact it was the game that made them announce the end of on-disc DLC)

Yet they stripped the DLC out of the PC version before release and now that the leaked 1.06 patch has the DLC characters making the download 800MB+ people are complaining about the size of the download.

The thing is by stripping the DLC characters out originally from the PC version they had to give them to everyone eventually anyway?

Why?

Can you imagine the uproar it would cause if people who bought the DLC characters couldn't use those characters online against people who hadn't bought them because they don't have the required files to do so?

Put the data on the disc and they get complaints, strip the characters out for the PC release due to there new no on-disc DLC policy and they get complaints about the download size.

IMHO, I think the data would have been better left on the disc to prevent the need for such a large download.

I have a guy at work who complains about everything no matter what. His life's a constant punishment and he's never happy. I'd say if he won 2 million euro he'd complain why it wouldn't be 4...

Anyhow, back on topic, great news DS on RE6 and thanks for sharing them, I will defo be getting it in March, though I'm still thinking about DMC as I don't like the new Dante at all. My wallet may not withstand it either, there's Bioshock Infinite and Metro Last Light coming out in March too...

I'm glad Capcom drops GFWL, although I've never had issues with it. Wish they relased RE5 DLC as well for PC, even though it's quite an old game and I have RE5 Gold on PS3, I'd still get it.

@DS: there's a saying here: "spring doesn't just come with one flower", what am i trying to say is although this is good news that capcom has made some good decisions, considering how companies act it is normal to be in doubt how long will it last, if it does last then kudos to them being able to provide what the user base wants and thinking about their customers needs as well.
