PCSX2 was a great success way long before this release... I remeber 9.5. and 9.6 - they were great too, many top PS2 games were playable and I actually beat a lot of them too. Seeing improvement is cool tho.

There is still no user guide for it?

Setting up PCSX2 only took a few seconds for me. It's not that hard.

Awesome! can i finally play God of War 2 at full speed on my single core laptop with a 64mb video card ?

Why would you think that? I never tried God of War, but I have a dual core laptop with 192mb onboard graphics and the fastest game I played was SSX3, at 17FPS.

Although I'm using 0.9.7, so I don't know if 0.9.8 is that different.

so... i hate to be one of the crowd asking about specific games but is the pal .hack//mutation fully playable yet? Or shall i be a guinea pig and test it for myself.

also excellent work.

im in the uk, so without getting it online and getting it posted here it impossible to get, besides.... why not. And then id have to somehow convert my save to nstc to import it, and bleh.

guess ill try it and see if it goes.

The results of quick testing (AMD Athlon Dual Core 5200+, 4GB RAM, NVidia GeForce GTS 8800 with 320MB VRAM):

- KoFXI & Shin Gouketsuji Ichizoku: Bonnou Kaihou - still have graphical glitches in some of the backgrounds (I suppose that applies to Neo Geo Battle Coliseum as well)

- The Rumble Fish - still has a weird black rectangle glitch

- X-Men: Next Dimension - still menus only

- Guilty Gear XX Accent Core - still crashes at intro & thus needs skip MPEG hack

- several 3D fighters (MK: Deception, Fate/Unlimited Codes, Tekken 5...) - I still need better system, since they work slow even with speed hacks. :D

Pcsx2 0.9.8

Alright! Pcsx2 0.9.8 but there is a problem because i tried some ps2 games on it

1. Castlevania Lament of innocence
well its fast on menus, cinematic. but game play? no its lagged well at least it can still work :)

2. Onimusha Dawn of dreams
yeah it loads, format memory. then The End oO

3. Silent Hill Shattered Memories
well its still the same, you can only play it nice by changing the Graphics to (Direct3D9 software) and it works compatibly with no annoying dark screen ;) but for others have low speed then don't try it at home

4. Devil may cry 3
well this game improves a lot of speed its same speed on pc. just ignore the right side OK ;)

5. Crash Mind over mutant
this games is fast on D3D9 Hardware but the shadow is the problem and the sound. well on software it runs slow but full graphic :???:

That is all for today but let me give some tips if you cant play it download the other pcsx2 emulator like the one based on pcsx2.net compatibility
this is why they don't delete the the other emulators because some games wont work.

and by the way thanks for this pcsx2 0.9.8 it runs my other ps2 games now :)

Turns out the pal dot hack mutation is playable SLES 52467 , just pointing it out due to the combatability list only stating its in game in an older version.
