I also read that from Sankaku... Not sure what to think though, it might just plain suck.
i hope not.
i have a feeling its not going to suck; if they're going to remake an anime they'll try to make it better than the original.
its also hard to make something as awesome as kenshin suck; look at the OVA's for example, they're usually rated super-highly in anime databases.
but i guess we'll have to wait and see.

@cotton: Great news, with Rurouni, btw i recommend FMP as well, it might not end as romantic as you hope so but other then that you'll like it.
Oh yeah, Full Metal Panic is a good suggestion as what to watch next Cotton! And even if you're not interested in mechas you MUST watch FMP Fumoffu! It has no mechas and instead concentrates on Sousukes and Chidoris life in school... And damn is it good! I kinda wish they'd make another season of Fumoffu! I don't even really like the actual series that much(mostly because I'm not really a mecha fan) but Fumoffu is one of my favourites.
FMP is one i've thought about watching but never really felt the motivation to do so. I guess I'll keep it in mind for what to watch next.
right now i think i'm going with Gundam Seed.

started gundam seed, watched episode 1 so far.

first thing i noticed was that the anime was SD, this was a shame cuz i thought it was going to be High definition.
The other thing is that when it first showed the main character my impression of him was that he was a fxcking *****. he was day dreaming about a guy friend he had...

However by the end of the first episode, i had gotten used to the crappy SD quality, and the main character started to seem a bit cooler.
The end of the first episode started to pick up on the action and pulled together the episode.

another thing is the drawing style for the characters is a bit childish; all the main characters have big eyes and kindof big heads. i can't really distinguish the girls from the guys since the guys look like girls.

gundam wing had more masculine character designs which i liked better.

also isn't it funny how there's always some masked character in gundam anime? wtf is up with that :p
who the hell wears a gay mask in real life.

Well i do agree with you with the mask bit, but unlike other this gundam shows here it actually has a reason (well the first gundam has one as well sort off). Also strange i never had any problem distinguishing between male and females in seed oO, but that's just me :p. I do agree that the character style situation is similar to initial-D except for the cars (in Seed's case mechs) it takes a bit to get used to, but after that all's fine. Also SEED is from 2002... so no HD.

PS: in a gundam anime you will always find the following traits: a bad guy with a mask (doesn't necessarily stay bad), space colonies, Earth alliance, Gundams.

i had only watched Gundam Wing (and played some random gundam games before), so i don't know too much about other gundam anime.
what i found interesting is that in gundam wing, "gundam" is some mobile suit made out of like gundamium alloy or something; while in gundam seed, the "G.U.N.D.A.M." seems to be an accronym for something.
i had thought that all gundams were made out of the special alloy like in Gundam Wing, but i guess what is considered a "Gundam" is different depending on the anime.

the anime has been picking up now; i'm on episode 4 and its more interesting than when it first started; it seems to get more interesting every episode.
i feel kindof bad for the main character as he got dissed by the red haired girl in episode 4. after he takes her to see the rest of their friends, she sees that guy with glasses and gets so happy and runs to hug him. i lulzed when i saw the main character's reaction.

also in the opening theme there is that part where it shows a silhouette of a naked woman; i thought that was hot

If you think now the anime picks it up wait till you reach 08 (i for one count 07 as well though depends on the person so that is why i said 08).

PS: their's not much confirming my hunch but that silhouette i think belongs to Ramius one of the reason is they both have similar hair shape the second is they both have big chests and third i can't disclose cause its a bit of a spoiler.

If this goes on i just might end up watching it again... anyway i still got two more special edition movies to see...

i think its her too.
the 3rd reason is a spoiler?
how long until i know what you're talking about?
if its not that-big of a spoiler i don't mind you spoiling it for me :p

Better of just seeing... lets just say that quite later in the series there's an intro that sort of seems to confirms it :p. One more Movie special and i'm done. Really enjoy that they introduced some new music themes.

PS: Ramius is one of my favorite characters in the series.

PS2: beside the eps their's also a short epilogue called Gundam Seed - Between the Stars be sure to get that to (and don't forget about S2 Gundam Seed Destiny if you like this one :p).

wow at the end of episode 7 they capture a life pod and they're wondering who's going to come out; and i soo guessed it right!
i knew the anime would make that character come out of the life-pod; i got teary eyed when my prediction came true since it was just so ridiculously unlikely to happen in a real life scenario, yet it happens so predictably in an anime.
seriously WTF was that person at the debris-belt at the same time as the other characters?

tbh its laughable how the characters always seem to be in the right place at the right time; and the main characters always avoid death unless there's a huge emotional scene before they sacrifice themselves :p

Before getting all excited like that, while you may have guessed right their is a logic valid answer for her being their :p.
well of course the anime makes-up some excuse for her to be there.
but in real life stuff like this never will happen.

btw i don't understand something:
How did they know that that pink haired girl was a coordinator? They didn't see her pilot any mobile suit, i don't know why they would automatically assume she's a coordinator.

Seen episode 8 ? if no don't look in the spoiler if you seen it and still don't understand look:

The pink haired girl is an idol to the Plants (space colonies), her ship was on route to Junius Seven for a comemorative service (one of the former colonies, the one where you saw everyone taking water from, it was destroyed without any reason by the earth alliance, actually you should have been able to figure this out from Zala's speach). Now all the people in the colonies are coordinators and their are people in the earth alliance who think of all of them as a nuisance so regardless of it being an civilian ship they started firing on it, the crewman did all they could to save Lacus and forced her in a escape pod, the rest you know. As for how did they figure out she was a coordinator was because she admitted it from the start (first when she said Oh, this ain't a Zaft vessel now is it ? and the second time when she was having a conversation with Ramius and Flaga, also it wasn't hard to figure it out, like i said those in the Plants are all coordinators, you will found out how it came to that in the recap episode 14).

Finished seeing it all and the last movie. Also watched the Character Theater which is made out of 4 episodes 4 min long, which parodies Gundam seed and Seed Destiny made me lol.

I could watch Seed again but i will try to keep my distance and leave the rewatch for another time now i will rewatch Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha skipping probably S1 and going with the movie after continuing with S2 and S3.

Despite misleading name the anime is quite good & action packing:

Also she was like "huh, this isn't a ZAFT ship?" which kinda gave it away

They do, they just never get around to using them cuz they get blasted by the enemy so fast. Remember Flay's Father (and I can't say more or I would spoil it for cotton).

Well i knew she was from the space colonies and the daughter of that blond guy, that was obvious, but what i didn't know was that all people from the space colonies are coordinators Oo
i thought a 'coordinator' was someone genetically enhanced to pilot mobile suits efficiently.

this kindof doesn't make sense to me; why is Kira so good at piloting his gundam when everyone he's fighting against is also a genetically-modified human? They all seem to suck except for Kira and his blue haired friend; yet they should all be amazing if they're all genetically enhanced.

Also why when the masked guy is fighting the other blond guy from the earth's forces in the first episodes, they seem to be pretty evenly matched. If the masked guy was some genetically enhanced dude then he should've owned the earthling pilot.

also schumi i'm already past that part :D

So, that an image of the characters in SEED? At first I'd say those are all girls, but as I've more or less gotten used to some level of anime androgynic drawing style, I'm pretty sure that the right one in black leather jacket is a dude, the top one is a chick and not really sure about the bottom one but I'm going to bet it's a girl too... Got it right?

------------------------

Watched the 9th episode of WING... And okay, Relena must officially be the dumbest character I've seen...

First she saves a guy from the beach who then runs away beating the ambulance crew coming to help him and steals their ambulance right in front of her face. Then that same guy rips her invitation letter in front of her, threatens to kill her, almost shoots her, commits huge terrorist acts(propably killing hundreads), almost squashes her with his mech. She is actually warned NOT to get close to the guy and she still goes after the guy even when he changes schools and most likely would also lead any people after the guy right to him as well because well, she did witness an assassination and she was almost assassinated herself but luckily for her the people in that world are morons and seem to have forgotten her...

So yeah, I'd say she's pretty damn stupid, but hey so seem to be the OZ and the Alliance so I guess it all evens out!:D

Damn there are stupid things in this anime, but hey some of them made me laugh... Like the weird exploding kamikaze attack that somehow does nothing to the guy doing it. Or well, it kills him but no external damage to him or the mech...

All guys (at least I think that bottom one is supposed to be Shinn from SEED Destiny) top is Athrun and on the right is Kira.
For some strange reason with Wing and SEED (dunno if it happened in the past with other Gundam series) but people like drawing the chars as if they're gay...there's a lot of HeeroXDuo out there and a lot of Kira/ShinnXAthrun as well.

They don't normally look that girly.
Though I do have to say for some reason the show's art sometimes fails and when they're happy it can make them look a little feminine. Still, I've seen much worse.

What? You're joking! That top "guy" even seems to have breasts! But yeah, yaoi fans are weird, going back to FMP I remember Lucky Star making a joke about Sousuke and that-immortal-dude(?) in a yaoi doujin!
