Self induced Prob FIXED!

for me the solution was the same as for the random freezing problem
you have to have these files from your nds
biosnds7.rom
biosnds9.rom
firmware.bin
gba.rom
Reading that i actually went and searched for those files. Knowing that it is totally illegal.
The fact though, i didnt use it. Seriously,
But i got an additional app with those files, and i am guessing tht helped.

it was a decrypter of some sorts.

i decrypted the PKMN rom and overwrited it on my original one.

Ta-da.... the game doesn't freeze anymore. though the Blue Screen AR code is required.

Still i am not sure if the encrypter is the only solution cuz i have copied the BIOS files in the No$GBA folder/ But i haven't set the loading to GBA Bios (cause i get a rom image crashed warning)

all those interested can search for a guy named
Code:
setya5785
Again i didnt use the BIOS just decrypted the ROM.

The Italian AR code is on the first post of this topic. >.<

Ok Guys im sorry if this seems lazy but i was trying to dig through the 14 pages of posts and that only confused me more

let me start with posting my problem:

I have a pretty good ROM of Pokemon White, But i played it on NoZoomer 2.0.3.1 and the game runs amazingly smooth, until out of the blue the game crashes. no screen. no error message, just closes. if that doesn't happen then during a battle the middle "fight" option will disappear and all the controls lock up and i have to restart.

Ticked off at that problem I updated to 2.0.3.2 (The Newest Zoomer) and the game ran rather glitchy. the video ran slow motion but audio worked at a normal pace. so i decided although annoying, atleast i can play, then i noticed after a short ammount of time the audio would sustain a single annoying note and the game will freeze forcing me to terminate the application.

So in more outrage i switched to DesmuME and the only problem i found with that is the annoying but bearable lag and i cant gain experience

i tried to download the XP patch but it tells me "no universal text" found to change when i try using the patch application.

i tried using 4 AP Codes:

Action Replay (no RAW, no idea what RAW is but some people say check it with the code)
allows me to play the game (first no "save file screen")

For playing on desmume, ensure that your rom is unaltered (not already patched or anything), then use this patch: RetroGameFan MultiPatcher 1.17 download on FileTrip.net - FileTrip
It will work beautifully. If it is slow follow these tips: Faq - DeSmuME
If it is still too slow get a computer with a faster CPU, or use No$gba.

For playing on No$gba, get No$Zoomer 2.3.0.2, No$gba v2.6a, Firmware.bin and the 2 BIOS files. Place them all in the same folder as the ROM, preferably in a My Documents folder. DO NOT GET THEM ILLEGALLY. Though if you don't use all of these I can't guarantee that it will work.

Load No$Zoomer, then load the ROM, then go to F2 (Cheats), go to "Add new". Check the box at the menu here which says "RAW", and select "Action Replay DS". Then put in the appropriate cheats (which you can find on the first post of this topic), then press Ok. Then select the box next to the "Action Replay" symbol.
Then go to F11, configure your settings according to "Correct configuration of the NO$GBA.ini file" on the first post of this page.
Then go to Options -> Save No$gba Settings.

Then go to File -> Reset. Your ROM will work fine.

That is all you need, for 90% of the problems in here. Alright?

Dear molh394, the first post only contains a link a posterior post, this post not contain code for Pokemon Black Italian, only for White version. Of course, my code is incomplete, should replace the row 13 of any western version action replay codes for apropiate use. Sorry my Tarzan English, i speak spanish.

Okay so the bios and firmware solved my freezing problem, escpecaily during fights not being able to choose fight =D

but now as a couple others have pointed out the game randomly wants to play at like 5 fps randomly :/ any fixes for this yet

Okay, so I noticed somebody said the bios and firmware files you dump have to be in the same folder as the ROM, now are we referring to the NDS files, i.e. black version? Or ROM files?

Edit: Also, it seems turning off the music causes problems with battles, in case anybody else noticed this.
(I'm using no$GBA)

You need to dump the firmware into the No$GBA folder, not the ROM folder.
Dumped game images, collectively, are called ROMs, whether they are .NDS, .GBA or .SMC. Yes, it's a bit confusing since the BIOS is saved as .ROM.

This problem has been around since the first DS Pokemon game, so we pretty much take it for granted now. You can mute your game with No$Zoomer, though.

I like to put *everything* in the same folder: .NDS, BIOS files, Firmware.bin, No$gba.exe, No$Zoomer.exe and so on. That should work right, especially if you put it in your My Documents folder. Sorry if I didn't clarify this earlier.

Everything works fine with mine (with the exception of a few minor graphic glitches), up until I face the first Gym Leader. The Screen freezes right before I get to battle him, but the music still plays.

Resetting doesn't help. I'll provide some basic info: Using no$gba+no$zoomer, ROM is the European version of Black.

I'm certain other people have had this problem as well. As I've Googled it and so far no one has come up with a solution.

*EDIT*

Yeah, disregard my post, I had a serious case of the stupid.

You're supposed to move a pixel towards the Gym Leader and talk to him before you can battle him.

Hello everyone,

Just gonna make two quick questions:

1) I've read in a flash the forums and searching I learned that apparently you can't trade pokemon using No$gba, so if that's true then what the hell is this?:

YouTube - Trading Pokemon Over NDS no$gba

Is this person lying or something?

2) I know wifi is impossible, however if I purchase a physical Nintendo DS, dumped Pokemon Black and put it in a R4 card (I think that's what they're called?) and a .sav file of the game inside the card as well... will the DS recognize the .sav file and therefore enabling me to play with all the stuff I got on the emulator? or is that impossible? why can't it be done? would I be able to connect with other people and trade pokemon?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

1) Yes, yes he is. Did you notice that no Youtube video actually shows the trade as it happens? There's a reason for that, and you already said it yourself...
2) You need to convert your .sav to the appropriate type here. Also, don't download ROMs. That's illegal. You need to dump them from your own cartridge. In this case, you can also use an AR device to patch your No$GBA savegame to your cart.
EDIT: As long as you didn't edit your Pokémon beyond their normal limit (eg. with Pokesav), you can trade them just fine from a Flashcart.

Damn, I was actually hoping that your answer to my second question would be no, but now I'm pretty tempted to play Pokemon, sorry for mentioning the R word, I edited my post so I hope that fixes things.

I do have another questions though:

1) where do I find a tutorial for using Shunywev converter?

2) What can be done if that site gets taken down by Nintendo? Are there other methos to convert the .sav files into save files for the physica consolel?

It was not the word ROM that's problematic, it's how to obtain it. You cannot just "find" a dump. You need to dump it yourself from the cart you own. That's the only legal way.

As for your questions:

1) a) Go to "Convert a savegame (DS)"
b) Set the source format (in your case "No$GBA (.sav)").
c) Set the target format (in case of an R4, it's "Acecard 2/*etc.etc.*/R4/*etc.etc.*")
d) Upload the source file.
e) Click "Convert", then save the new file.
Really, it's meant to be user-friendly (=idiotproof).

2) I think there was an offline converter somewhere, but a Google search can help you, if and when that need arises. I wouldn't hold my breath for Shuny's own offline converter. It's been "soon" for around half a year, now.

I apologize for breaking the rules of the forum again. Hope this time I fixed the post alright.

So then it could be said that I can play Pokemon Black on No$GBA, then when I get all of the Pokemon upload the game to a (R4) flashcard together with the converted save file, go meet with some people and exchange pokemon and battle with them?

If the answer to the above question is yes, then where do I put the converted .sav file? In the same folder as the game?

I've just found a supposedly offline converter, does it seem to be as good as the online one by Shuny? UniqueGeeks.Net's Gaming Portal | Offline NDS Save Converter

Is it recommendable to buy a used Nintendo DS? Is the console capable of being repaired? (scratched screens, internal pieces broken, etc.) Are there any places that can fix a Nintendo DS console if broken?

If I modify the .sav with Pokesav just to get Victini, does this render the save file useless for use on a DS?

Thanks for your reply.

EDIT: Damn converter doesn't support No$GBA .sav files, anyway if it did, would it be reliable?

EDIT2: I just tested Shuny's converter (target: Acekard 2| CycloDS|...| R4, Acekard RPG) However I just end up getting a 512 kb file, the same size my No$GBA file is (since I use RAW config for save files now) is this alright or is there something wrong with my No$GBA save file?

EDIT3: Is it recommended to buy used flash cards/micro SD's or do these have a limited lifespan? Should I just buy new ones?

Better. :)

Exactly.

Dunno. I don't use Flash carts, but I'm guessing they come with a manual.

IIRC, if you edit the "SAV/SNA File Format" in No$GBA.ini to RAW, you can use "RAW Format" in both directions. As for whether it works *shrugs*, you tell us...

Personally, I wouldn't. Fixing touchpads can be a b****, and finding original parts to replace broken ones can be even more aggravating. A well maintained/treated DS can go on a long time, even used, but there's no guarantee it was.
If I modify the .sav with Pokesav just to get Victini, does this render the save file useless for use on a DS?
Nah. As said, it's only a problem if you patch in Pokemon with radically different stats than what you'd normally find. And even then, you can only not trade those Pokemon, or use 'em in WiFi battles. Even so, as a friendly piece of advice: always back up your save before changing it. That way, you won't lose anything.
It should be alright. It's not just a matter of size, but coding.
EDIT3: Is it recommended to buy used flash cards/micro SD's or do these have a limited lifespan? Should I just buy new ones?
They shouldn't have limited lifespans, especially if you can change their batteries. Not for any forseeable time, anyway. But really, a Flashcart is a one time investment and SD cards are practically thrown after you, so IMO, both are generally worth getting first hand.
Thanks for your reply.
You're welcome.
