crappy game play

i need help getting shenmue to work!!!
controller works fine till certain spots in the game idk if its the game its self or the controller
one spot is in the jazz bar when two punks ask for you to play billiards with them.
and the other spot is when you go to warehouse#8 and need to push a brown crate forward towards the open window
please!!!! helppppp!!!!
without the help i cant pass the game

Need some more detail.

What happens to the controls at that point, do they stop responding completely?
Are those points QTEs? (ie. where you have to push a button matching the on-screen prompt).
What version of nulldc are you using?
Which input plugin are you using?

well no they dont stop completely its more like when you have to press the button to interact with the object or action it just seems to not respond as if that button never existed. its not QTEs they interacting spots... if you want i could make a short vid with spots i found so far in the game

im using "nullDC_100b1_6_mmu"
input Plugin is "nullDC Joystick/n(Nov 7, 2007) v1.0.1(nullMaple_Win32.dll:0)
if that helps im really new to this, but any advice or new links with good plugins, versions of the game or the nullDC, thanks alot man

idk if its because its just a beta but thats it
