I thought about getting this game for the PS2 a long time ago, but didn't for some reason.
I recently picked it up, popped it into my console, and MY GOD! What can I say? Devil May Cry is simply an amazing game! It's got Capcom's Resident Evil style puzzle feel, yet, it's got this incredibly fast, action-packed battle system. I seriously feel like I can do anything in this game. It's just hilarious how I can have the little puppet demons chasing me as I run towards a wall. I jump towards the wall, kick off into a backflip, land behind it. Then, I swipe upwards at it with my sword, knocking it into the air, and then, while it's still airborone, I unload on it with my handguns, suspending it in the air until it's dead.
I also find it fun how you can collect the red orbs, which allow you to purchase power-ups for your character, developing him into a stronger warrior.
It's also very challenging :) I bought the game 2 days ago and my save file already has a time of 10 hours recorded. I wonder how many missions are in this thing.

That's what I liked about the powerups. You learned new abilities! ;)
I thinked it helped to allow for the game to not get old so fast. I also keep finding new weapons for some reason.... :)

Argh...Devil May Cry is boring after a while...time to get back to Tekken Tag!

oh dear god, DMC was one of those games that i've waited for since the previews. i love this game, though i haven't beaten it. i love all of capcoms games, really. for some reason, their genre appeals to me a lot. i've played almost every megaman game, i kicked ass in Street fighter, and DMC i just plain loved.

another hack and slash game that is also really good is Starwars jedi outcast 2. really good multiplayer, too. this one's for PC though.

Although, I must admit, some enemies did get rather old.

Well, those baby phantoms sure do offer a good supply of red orbs in some of the secret missions. There was one point in my game where I would purposely fail the mission, collect the orbs, go back, do it again, over and over just so I could collect enough orbs for the abilities I wanted ;)
