i think i am in the right place, but if not, please dont hurt me...

anyway, i have been looking for one for 4-5 hours now (its midnight here and i have a lecture in the morning!), but i either find broken links or dead ends or people talking about just FF 8 on an emulator, and nothing about ppf.
i am using epsxe 1.7, with the corect bios, i belive i have the right plugins as i managed to get ff7 working, but that froze after the licsece stuff (which will propably be my next query unless something happens).

so, can anyone provide me with a decent link to the approprate thingy-majig. please.

thanks in advance, GiLLy1.

edit-oh, when i run the bios, i come up with the cd player/mem card thingy. so that means it works, right?

edit2- oh (again), when i try to play ff7 now i just get a blank screen like FF8. not tried nine yet, but i would bet a kings ransom that that dosent work either.

FF7 is not protected.
Patching FF8 leads to problems.

perform a complete rip using alcohol 52% or clonecd.

remember to toggle subchannel reads on.

okay... right, i know i saw a guide to clonecd on this site somewhere...
the cloncd music is realy annoying... may turn it off.

edit-cause i dont want to douilble post:
okay, i am sooooooo doing something wrong. cloned the cd onto a dvd, poped the dvd in the d drive and hit runcdrom in the emulator. blank screen still comes up. i hate computers.

thats it! thanks.

and i fail on the first piont as my laptop dosent come with a burner and i dont think i have access to a computer which does...

still, this beats my earier clumsy attmepts at it.

edit::pCmad::pCmad::pCmad::hdbash::hdbash::hdbash:
still not working!!!! noooooooo!!!!!!!!! you know, i am quite tempted just to nick my ps1 bsck of my little sister (who dosent use it anyway).

grab sapu cdr 1.3, and mount the disk using daemon tools lite.

install the latest SPTD driver prior to installing daemon tools.

okay, installed SPTD. added the sapu cdr 1.3 plugin. installed deamon tools.

how do i use deamon tools?

wait, think i got it figured. use clonedcd to make an image. write this image to DT, then pop (or mount) onto a blank disc! am i right?

okay, quick question-when burning a disc with clonecd, if i open the burned cd should it say that there are no files present, but at the same time inform me that there are is free space left on the disc? the same thing occurs with deamontools when i mount the image of the disc (again from clonecd). maybe not having a burner is hurting my chances of succes more than i thought.

also, i am running out of blank cds.

why are you trying to burn it :|

just mount the image and read it directly from the virtual drive.

okay nothing happens if i do that. just a quick recap of what i have done (partialy to organise my thoughts):

put original disc in laptop
read disc with clonecd using the above tutorial (but without a burner)
mounted image with deamon tools
set emulator to read cds from virtual drive (in this case, e)
run cd

where am i going wrong?

did you enable subchannel emulation in daemon tools?

Then your issue isn't a copy protection one.

enable the epsxe logger and paste the last line to be printed before the black screen.
