Because Winamp (and I suppose iTunes if you're limp-wristed) are vastly superior when you need to manage a large music library.

winamp is void of useless functions and itunes takes 3 weeks to open a 10GB library.

Because you say so does not make it true. You are the most polarized person in the world. You always have some niche software or product your prefer and everything else is complete garbage, blah blah blah.

And I realize I'm often the same way, but you take it to the nth degree.

The time it takes iTunes to open my 30GB library does not concern me, it gives me time to think about what I want to play

I use about 70% of it's features on average. There are very few I never touch.
And it takes approximately 7 seconds (I just counted and did it) to load up my 40GB library.

iTunes is dysmally slow...there's no getting around that....that said though it is very convenient to use if you have a large CD collection rather than just downloaded music.

yes, but severely suffers from the slightest scratch, heck record players often scratch the vinyl whilst playing even

how does a cd give best quality...?
