it's stored in the registry as:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\epsxe\config]
"Keys1"="203,205,200,208,32,45,44,31,17,18,19,20,47,46,16,21"
"Pad1"="515,513,512,514,277,278,279,58,273,282,275,283,274,284,36,37"

just import/export it.

actually not hard - easy, once you have exported you don't have to import or even open regedit, just click on the saved export file>click 'ok' and your done. [2 clicks=easy]

Hi,

The Goal is to automate the process entirely.
So you don t have to click anywhere but only on the icon.
I have to use the regedit command line to inport the reg before launching epsx.
But as i have to modify the reg file the method could not work on system with security on the regfile.
That why i should be good to not overwrite the regfile but give to epsx a file which contain the configuration, it s more clean regarding the security.

rgds,

Why would you even want different Game Pad setups for every single game? That makes no sense to me. And while it might be possible for Memory Cards, I doubt it's possible to create "automatic Registry changes" before running ePSXe, or even creating a file for ePSXe allowing you to change that setup.

Hi,

"Why would you even want different Game Pad setups for every single game? That makes no sense to me."

I, agree if you play with a standart dualshock.

My goal is to play to racing game using the logitech G25 Wheel.
As racing game have different button config, to have the more confortable setup for the wheel, you have to change the button configuration for each game.

"I doubt it's possible to create "automatic Registry changes" before running ePSXe, or even creating a file for ePSXe allowing you to change that setup. "

It s possible because i do it.

rgds,

You do it with Memory Cards, but you haven't done it with Game Pad settings, which is what you're asking here in this topic, are you not?

Memory Cards =/= Registry Files.

The only thing I can think of is that you create a .bat file that loads the Game Pad registry settings, and that you set ePSXe to start that .bat file first. But that seems quite complicated to do, so I'm not sure if that can be done. Give it a shot.

Or a .bat file to load the Reg file, and then the same .bat file would run ePSXe.

Anonyme-x22 mentioned security & wanting it done with one click, no doubt he's referring to UAC in vista/win7, a batch file would need to allow for these prompts, which is either very complex or not possible [if it is possible, then UAC isn't very secure, is it?], easier to turn off UAC, which decreases security but also decreases user frustration. or use a superior OS such as winXP.

i use a dualshock and my registry method to bypass games that don't have fully customizable controls [e.g - if can't use triggers for shoot, or buttons for accellerate.]

the registry method can also be used to create entire epsxe configs for each game [different plugins, etc] which is much easier than remembering each setup for each game and changing multiple values in epsxe, it's the same thing as a 'emu frontend' does for you, which Anonyme-x22 may also want to try, but they can be buggy, so i can't recommend which one to use.

Hi,
Here is what i m doing: (it can be usefull for other)

1 open epsx
2 Setting All Parameter for a game
3 Going to the registery base for epsx config
4 Export of epsx config which give you a .reg
5 Create a bat which contains instruction to load the reg file
Also included epsx command line launch with bios and mem card location
and a tsr for mapping the gear of the G25 (specially for G25)

You can get a demo searching testdrive 5 Logitech G25 on Emule

NB: The Goal: Have a arcade racing game in one click.

Rgds,

i tried this game with a wheel, but it is too jerky, especially on the vintage cars, so i use a game pad, the modern cars may be ok though. NFS: porsche [nfs 5] is a more precise game to use a wheel on.

you don't need a command line for bios & memcard location anymore, as this is also stored in the reg key you're exporting.

Try the mod i ve done, maybe you will be suprised.

You're right, but i didn t configure the things i can set with command line.

rgds,

i searched emule for your 'mod' on 2 diff days with no result, what would surprise me is if you managed to somehow modify the games inbuilt car handling/physics code, if so why don't you post how/what you did, as i'm sure I and others would be very interested.

if you just changed windows control settings, it won't help, because this game requires knee-jerk response to counter-steer during fast slides/fishtails [as an exageration - how quick can you turn a wheel full left to right and back again, compared to the flick of a thumbstick?] the wheel reduces response in these situations. wheels are good for precision games with slow/steady fishtail responses, or for taming jerky games without fishtails to smoother steering.

btw: the pc version of this game looks much better, but only runs on win98, unless there's an obscure patch hiding on the net?

Hi,

Sorry, the td5 demo is not yet shared, try this one :
test drive 4 for psx with g25 shifting

I don t tell it s perfect. You cannot modify the code of a game.
But settings the in game sensibility/dead zone + Logitech Gaming Software sensibility/dead zone /reactivity+ wheel rotation angle, i got something fun.

rgds,

NB: Cannot find TD5 on PC.

Hi,

Sorry, don t work on Demos. Not interesting on game whose have more than 10 years.
NB: For info, tried an obscur version from friend, the game launch itself, but don 't go ingame. As it was an obscur backup (Not iso), it is only to take as info.
NB2: Will try to launch the demo to see i works anyway.
rgds,

it's no older than the ps1 version you are using, in fact it looks newer than it, if you like the demo you may find it on ebay one day. i can't try your td4 mod 'cause i don't have the game.

i thought as much, but you should know to post links for pirated games is against this forums rules. if it were a good game i woulda bought it back in the day - i actually hired it from a video store at the time i think.
